Glad to see things are good man. I'm guessing by the email addy you've decided to lend your skills to the masses. On a completely random note, are those your pits on the website? So ferocious and mean looking. :p

Haha im sorry guys, I saw your PM last night as I got on Twitter on my iPhone but I will shoot you an email shortly, when I come into work I instantly jump into emails, then scan the forums quickly, pass off bug issues and fixes to developers, try to answer some posts and start threads, then right into working on new graphics, jquery images, then web design and development on the new pages that I am developing, starting work on the tutorial videos, doing some back end coding and brainstorming brand new ideas so I pretty much am just like in the zone as soon as I walk in and do the job of about 7 people haha.
But I am very glad that things are going well for you Josh especially new house, new gym and of course the new job for the wifey (makes it easier on life for the both of you which you cannot complain at all), I saw the pictures of your old house but I am guessing you left the old house in Philly and have moved somewhere else? (Which BLASPHEMY! Because you lived in a gorgeous area haha).
I think its hilarious that people think pit bulls are dangerous and vicious. It depends on how you breed and raise them because the pit bulls I know are sweethearts and just want love and attention (my friend who I lift with has a pit bull and she is an ultimate sweetheart) and I used to have a Chow (before a certain somebody took her) and people say Chows are vicious but mine just loved life and was as sweet as could be. Your pit bullls look like they would tear things apart and cause chaos! GRRRR! haha :p
But yea I will shoot you an email right now but just wanted to respond to your post buddy, sorry for taking so long.
Wake up at 6, get ready for work, get into work, nonstop work, get out of work, do work at the gym, get home at 8:30 or 9, make dinner and clean up and do work, then finally get relaxed by 10pm and then maybe play Xbox or watch netflix till 12 or 1am and then go to bed and start all over again, actually trying to get back into the groove of staying up till 3am or so and wake up a 6am as I used to so I can do more for JEFIT and answer more emails, forum posts, do graphics and make my life a tad bit easier haha.

haha you are crazy with that schedule man - I can barely function when I get 6 hours of sleep let alone 3 :-p And you hit the nail on the head, pits and other similar breeds are very eager to please their humans. So if you teach them to do bad, they will do it. If you teach them to do good, then they will be good animals. You ought to see how devastated mine are when they think they did something bad or when they get scolded. Its pathetic haha

Well I don't know what the situation is in the US, but in the UK pitbulls ended up being trophy animals or status symbols, largely with people involved in gangs. They were inevitably treated cruelly and were often trained to attack. The problem with a pitbull compared to many other dog breeds is that they can cause a lot of damage very quickly and after a number of very high-profile attacks on children the Government felt pressured into a knee-jerk reaction of adding them to the banned dangerous-dogs list. So now they are illegal in the UK and it is a criminal activity to breed them here.
Statistically speaking you are far more likely to be bitten by a jack russell terrier, which can be nasty little so-and-sos, and I never met a chihuahua that didn't snarl and snap, but the damage these dogs can do is correspondingly small and so they are not considered dangerous.
It's all a bit mad really, but the real irony is that their illegal status has made them all the more desirable as status-symbols/trophy animals for gang members, so now all the legitimate and well-looked after pits have gone and the only ones left on the streets are those with neglect-caused neuroses making them ticking-time-bombs should a child frighten them accidentally...
Personally I'm happy with my Alsatian/collie cross rescue-dog and I love him to bits!!!!
Kind Regards
Dave

Absolutely - they are obviously powerful animals, so when there is a bite or worse, it makes news. Something far more common, like poodle and jack russell bites, just don't make headlines. And yes, we have a similar problem with sketchy owners taking on pits here in the US. Thats also the reason why there are more pits in high kill shelters than any other breed - these gang members, dog fighters, etc. dont buy the dogs as companions, so they are quick to give them up, set them free, or chain them somewhere to die. It does seem that there is something of a reclamation going on, however. More and more responsible people seem to be taking pits into their home and spreading the word about just how great they can be given a proper home, training, socialization, etc. And just yesterday Ohio, a state that has had discriminatory breed-specific legislation for years, passed a law overturning any legislation that labels any entire breed as vicious, dangerous, etc. So progress is being made!
I'm glad to hear you like your dog - the most important part of your whole situation is that he/she was a rescue. I can't think of any reason to go to a pet shop or breeder when there are so many animals on death row in shelters!

I agree with you... now! All my life I've been around pedigree dogs. The first two family pets were pedigree corgis. Then a neighbour gave us a very small alsatian puppy (probably not purebred, but definitely alsation and probably taken too early from her mother) who became a much loved pet. Corgis are lovely but they are not particularly bright and I was much taken with the intelligence of the alsatian.
I went away to university so couldn't have pets, then I was in houseshares where I couldn't have pets, then I was living alone and working full time and thought I couldn't have pets. But a colleague whose living situation was similar to mine got a rescue dog. When I suggested it was unfair for them to leave the dog alone all day they responded that whatever love and attention the dog got when they were home was more than it would get in the pound.
That seemed like a valid argument to me so I resolved to get a rescue dog myself (although I would regret not having the puppy phase - my two brothers have both gone for pedigree dogs since (one for an alsatian, and the other for a Golden Lab who died recently and has been replaced by a pedigree chocolate lab). As it turned out I had a nervous breakdown and became unable to work so the "leaving him at home all day alone" ceased to be a problem.
I went to a rescue centre with the intention of finding an alsatian, but "Trent" practically threw himself at the bars of his shelter wanting to be friends with me and so I knew he was the one. I've always had a soft spot for collies anyway...
Now he means the world to me and - as is the way with dogs - I to him!!!
Was there ever a more wonderful animal?
And, as I've said, he's done much more to help my depression than drugs ever have...
...although he's much more difficult to swallow...
Kind Regards
Dave

Anyway... I figured it was more environmentally friendly to recycle a dog than it was to have one built for me....

They're trying to do the same in the US with BSL: breed specific legislation. It's brought on by people who don't understand the real cause of dog attacks; bad owners. A good friend of mine's pit is one of the sweetest dogs I've met.
And I agree 100% Dave. Damn chihuahuas are evil. Those and pomeranians.
We've got 4 dogs and they are the biggest babies. Great Dane, Newfoundland, Boston Terrier, and a French Bulldog.

Wait wait wait wait wait Justin..... you have 4 dogs? You have a Great Dane and a Newfoundland and a child?! (Bulldog and terrier don't eat as much as the other 3 ahha)
How in God's name are you managing this?! I mean I thought 1 dog was tough in terms of getting food for and so forth but 4 dogs and having a child/family, my good lord sir, I bow to you and am at your mercy haha
Dave is right though, I HATE Chi-WaaaWaaas and pomeranians, those 2 breeds are just pure evil and satanic. I thought the Taco Bell dog was cool at first because of Yo Quiero Taco Bell but then met a chihuahua and it was just angry as all hell, now I hate them

Yeah it's nonstop at our house. Not much down time for sure. That's why I workout at 4am. No one/dogs are up. The two giants eat about 15 cups of food a day combined. The two little ones eat about 1.5 cups a day. And the kid, I lost track. He eats like daddy. ;)
If we had a bigger house and yard, we'd probably have more dogs. I wouldn't be against fostering dogs. Downside is the wife would want to keep them all.

You don't tend to see chiuhuahuas very much in the UK. Nor pomeranians for that matter. But Jack Russell Terriers. and their mongrels, are everywhere.
Far from being the cute little intelligent darlings of Hollywood, they tend to be yapping, snappy, territorial little bullying b****rds!!!!
One even bit Tom Baker, and that should tell you something!!!
And I love dogs!!!
