Just to get abit of conversation going really, What's in your stack, How much do you take, when and why. Why did you choose them, any comments you've got about them etc

Mine is....
Precision Engineered - Xtreme Gainer
Chocolate flavored, only just started it so can't say much, but lots of protein in it, and tastes great and was pretty cheap

Creatine Xplode powder
Orange flavored, Tastes like orange concentrate with orange flavoring with ground up oranges, basically tastes bad!, not noticed as much from it as i would of liked or did with previous creatine powders

Nitro Isolate 65 pro series
Chocolate flavored, tastes amazing!, 65g of protein, quite abit of leuice and low fat etc

Here is mine

Muscle Pharm Assault : It is a phenomenal Pre-Workout Supplement that contains 40,000 mg of ingredients of L-Arginine and Creatine, Suma Root and a Few other ingredients that provide you with a great pump but help build a significant amount of muscle with the amount of creatine that is indeed provided.

Animal Pak by Universal : Is a great multi-vitamin that you can either take once or twice a day that gives your body all of the necessary minerals and vitamins that your body needs, helps build a decent amount of muscle and recover from a workout.

Currently right now I dont have any protein except for the foods I eat during the day which provide me with about 150grams of protein per day which is enough to suffice so I can't complain there.

I take the pre-workout because I love pre-workout supplements and the effect that caffeine does to the human body (I love that tunnel vision feeling), vitamins to keep the body strong and protein of course to help build muscle.

I never tried the new MuscleTech NitroTech Isolate, it seems like a great product especially with 65grams of protein, thats insane, have you been feeling a great amount of muscle growth and strength at all?

This used to be a stack I was on when I was 19, minus the bottles of Vodka because that was a night of going to parties and my friends stole me bottles from various houses haha, but thats when I used to drink at parties and such but took NitroTech, MuscleMilk, Size On, and Super Pump 250

It is pretty insane, about 80 gram serving, 65g protein, 11g leucine, 20g BCAA etc etc

not had it to long to notice much from it, but the recovery with it after a workout is intense, and noticed pretty decent strength increase in the week or so ive been using it
Although it's pretty pricey, about 30/40 quid (60 odd dollars) for 900 gram

Labarda Breakfast shake - First meal

AST Multi Pro Multi

Glucosmine - Bench press has been killing my wrists

65 grams of protein and 11grams of leucine will provide you with an incredible amount of recovery after a heavy lift and should give you an intense strength boost, I always wanted to try this product since once it came out and for the amount of ingredients in it

I keep things pretty simple - Muscle Milk Collegiate about an hour before workout, N.O. Shotgun 15 minutes prior to, and SNI Pro Whey with a spoonful of sugar post workout.

How is NO Shotgun?

I always wanted to try that pre-workout for some reason, a few friends at college had it and said they loved it. I was more of a NO Xplode type guy because I felt that supplement right away and have always seen phenomenal results from it

- Jack3d (lemon-lime all the way)
- GNC's Lean Protein 25 (only 25g but I take 4-5 shakes/day to maintain my 180g/day
- Extreme Athlete VitaPak

N-Zero Extreme by Cellucor was what I had before Jack3d and it was a waste of $60. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It was good at doing one thing though.... giving me stomach aches.

I enjoyed jack3d and got a great buzz from it but the only thing that set it apart for me was the lack of the L-Arginine in the product and felt like an energy stimulant rather than a product based for Nitric Oxide and pump. Im not saying its a bad product at all because it is a phenomenal product but looking for more of a Nitric Oxide booster from Jack3d than a Caffeine stimulant

Don't get me wrong, I am sure Jack3d has it's pro's and con's just like any product on the market, but let me tell you one thing. Going to Jack3d from N-Zero was a tremendous difference. The first week I had it, I increased ALL 1RM's. For example, my dumbell bench press weight increased 20lbs per dumbell (no joke) and still increasing... I feel like a madman in the gym now, I'm lovin it (thanks McDonalds)

Again, I am sure it is different for everybody but right now I am feeling good. Which leads me to a question.

What's the most efficient creatine out there?

Hahah I feel you on that, when you go from wasting 60$+ on a product that is supposed to have its benefits to a product like jack3d, I truly cannot blame you and I felt the same exact way as I went from a GNC Pro Based Nitric Oxide Booster, their GNC Pro Performance Amp Amplifier NO Booster Pre-Workout powder http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4073625&CAWELAID=809228884, to jack3d I could tell the difference in both quality and taste and effectiveness. I swear the GNC tasted like hell, it was awful and almost passed out and threw up multiple times from taking it.... horrible and don't wish that on anybody.

Well either go for a straight pure creatine monohydrate product or CON-CRET creatine product as they are truly some of the best, purest and cleanest forms of creatine without bloating, as far as I know. Not trying to plug Con-Cret but with the fact you don't need to load and no bloating and gave me the best results I have to say them

Athletix Sports Titanium = 2x/day
Erase = 2x/day
Animal Pak = 2x/day
Twinlab Whey = p.r.n. Usually for breakfast, after workout, and before bed with egg
Twinlab BCAA =1x/day

Can someone talk to me about pre-workout supplements? I have never done anything besides eat a couple of bananas and some caffiene

I have been out of the gym for about 7 years now. Not sure what has all changed.

I am relatively new to the pre-workout supplements as well and one thing I can tell you from a modern perspective (not that 7 years ago was retro) is that there are TONS of supplements. Obviously some stand out more than others and some are more popular but a true, dedicated, serious lifter will find whats best for him or her. This is done simply through trial and error, there is no other way.

We cannot tell you what will absolutely work for you, because all humans have different genetic make-ups making some more prone to product A while others are prone to product B.

The best thing is to first decide what it is your routine is trying to accomplish. Are you trying to bulk up, cut weight, tone, etc...? Answering this will narrow down your supplement search to those supplements created to aid in the process of your selected goal.

I feel once you have answered the above question the other members of JEFIT will gladly help you with the creation of your own stack. Remember, our opinions are just that... opinions based on our personal experiences with products. Over-time you will learn for yourself, what works and what doesn't, and you will edit your stack to accommodate. This is very similiar to developing a routine regiment. You start with a baseline and edit based on individual results, goals, and experiences.

Good Luck!!! Feel free to let us know what you're interested in accomplishing!

I have never ingested a creatine product before (besides whats in jack3d, N-zero and Xtreme Athlete VitaPak) is Con-cret something I take throughout the day or just 1 scoop per 100lbs (I weigh 175-180, so 2 scoops:p) right before my workout or after?

It actually is just as you asked, you actually take 1/4 a tsp per 100lbs of bodyweight either 30 minutes before or after your workout, so yes for you it would be 1/2 a tsp or 2 scoops of the product because it is an ultra-concentrated form of creatine and extremely pure, no loading as you asked (taking it throughout the day), its just as if you were taking a pre-workout before lifting but rather than getting jittery or anything or intaking other chemicals/ingredients, you are getting 100% Pure Creatine, and also one of the strongest forms of it

From the Con-Cret Website :

"Capsule & Powder

CON-CRĒT® is a pure, concentrated, creatine hydrochloride designed for serious athletes (both professional and amateur) and any fitness-oriented person who is looking to increase their conditioning level or gain a competitive advantage. CON-CRĒT is also ideal for anyone whose livelihood may benefit from an increase in the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), a major source of energy or fuel for cellular and muscular function, such as those on restrictive diets and who are not getting enough creatine in the foods they eat.
Unlike other creatines on the market, CON-CRĒT does not require a loading phase or the need to cycle-off. Due to its bioavailability and recommended creatine Micro-Dosing® ®, only a ¼ tsp (or 1 capsule) is needed per 100 lbs of body weight. A true scientific breakthrough, CON-CRĒT is the only creatine on the market that you dose by body weight, with one serving being equivalent to 5-10 grams of creatine monohydrate. Unlike other creatines, CON-CRĒT does not cause any negative side effects, such as bloating, water retention and GI issues that most have experienced from taking other creatine blends. In a recent creatine uptake study conducted by two major Universities, CON-CRĒT proved to be extremely soluble creatine on the market—59x more soluble than creatine monohydrate.
The most readily absorbed creatine form available, CON-CRĒT offers steroid-like results in strength, endurance and muscle recovery in a legal and safe natural product. Athletes can take CON-CRĒT and get superior results in performance without any worries of failing any form of drug testing – you will never be tested positive for any illegal or banned substances when taking CON-CRĒT. my goal is actually 3 goals. first to shed pounds, second to stave off andropause, and thirdly to eventually bulk up again. Poor diet and lifestyle have been working overtime for the past 7 years and I am an embarassing sight to behold. I will build the mass I once had in order to increase my daily resting caloric consumption. This way I will lose more weight faster. Once I have lost the weight (45-55 lbs) I will change up the stack in order to bulk up more.

I've never been one to lose weight but calculating/understanding your BMR is a first step I would think. Knowing your calorie limits will help create a diet that can sustain nutrition yet allow for decreased intake. As you may or maynot know there are approximately 3500 calories in a pound of stored body fat. So, if you create a 3500-calorie deficit through diet, exercise or a combination of both, you will lose one pound of body weight. (On average 75% of this is fat, 25% lean tissue) If you create a 7000 calorie deficit you will lose two pounds and so on. The calorie deficit can be achieved either by calorie-restriction alone, or by a combination of fewer calories in (diet) and more calories out (exercise). This combination of diet and exercise is best for lasting weight loss. Indeed, sustained weight loss is difficult or impossible without increased regular exercise.

As far as supplements go, if you read what I wrote above, calorie deficit's alone, when coupled with a healthy workout regime, can decrease weight. So supplements geared toward longevity in the gym will allow you to burn more calories (calories out) while a healthy diet helps (calories in).... at this point I would think that any supplement that gives you energy, focus, and a great pump would benefit you as working out as been null for 7 years. Of course there are supps. that are geared toward weight loss, fat loss. Whether this be metobolic enhancers, fat burners, fat blockers, etc... but like I said before, I know nothing of any of these.

Went to my local GNC and they only had tablets which I didn't want. They had a sale on Pro Creatine Monohydrate (GNC brand) and it was super cheap on sale so for the time being I figured I would use that, although Con-Cret is where I would like to go eventually. To effectively see gains in muscle mass and strength what is the average consumption (in grams) per day? 5-10g? These are one scoop per day at 5g of Monohydrate. Should I take two?

I read that an average build male should take 2-25g per day. Now, the average male (according to what I read) is 155 lbs... I haven't been 155 in a long time so would I push more toward 10-35g? If this is the case, that severly cuts down on the longevity of my creatine jug. (50 servings at 5g per day) Which for the price I paid, I don't care but I am just wondering because supplement intake has a variety of opinions and answers (all different)

Thanks

Thanks for your reply, Lost. I have calculated my BMR at 2375 give or take. I am tracking dietary intake religiously and have already found some of the errors of my ways...not enough fiber and too much sodium. God I am such a statistic - lol. As for the Con-Crete I have been thinking about that as well. I also once purchased the GNC creatine and what I remember is gaining about 20;bs of water in 6 weeks on that. Ever since then I had written creatine off. Just with this last return to iron have I considered it again, but only con-crete. They way I look at it - if Con-Crete is that pure then what the hell are they cutting all the other crap with? Saying that, I am not sure if creatine dosage is your biggest concern. In my experience and humble opinion, GNC sell very few items of true value. When they do their prices can be as much as twice what you can get on BB.

That is very true and that is something I am aware of... I will start with this just to see if it does anything at all positive or negative. I too, am wanting to get Con-Cret but will wait until I can order some...

Currently putting all money into my two automobiles to ensure safety of my new daughter that should be born anyday now!

So I don't have a whole lot to contribute here since I took a long (read: too long) hiatus from working out but am back. After polishing up a routine I enjoy, I went for the BSN Fit Stack Advanced (http://www.bsnonline.net/stack/thefitstackadvanced.html) I remember loving N.O. Xplode and their Syntha-6 protein products have always been the best tasting I've found so I went back to my comfort zone. The bars are a nice touch (I just got my shipment this morning and haven't had a chance to try it all) since I'm a "hard gainer" and always find myself hungry at about 3 in the afternoon so those will be nice to have around the office. The pills...meh, I'm not sure about. Those may sit out. Have to see...

I have to admit Syntha 6 was and still is one of my favorite proteins of all time, with quality in the product and taste in the protein, their powders are incredible and my favorite flavor of course is Cookies and Cream. BSN does make phenomenal products and NO Xplode was one of my first pre-workout products that I have ever taken, actually gave me a great boost and that feeling that I could dominate in the gym. Never tried their FIT Stack Advanced but they made some great stacks that you could buy together which worked out well, I usually just bought each product separately with Cellmass, NO Xplode and Nitrix for an ultimate creatine/NO Boost stack, actually enjoyed it and got great results but could never tell from Nitrix because that was in pill form

Pre- c4
During- gnc advance wheybolic 1 scoop and drink half, refill, drink half, refill, then drink rest of shaker.
Post- syntha-6

Love the results. c4 is great. Feel pumped by not itchy and jittery like jack3d. Only drinking the protein during cause of soreness and its gone away. And got to love the desert of syntha to relax with.
