Typically when you think of broccoli, you think of the food/vegetable that when you were a little kid, you despised and never wanted to eat at all but your parents kept trying to feed it to you anyways telling you that your vegetables were good for you and help you grow big and strong.

Well besides the fact that broccoli is one of the best and most beneficial vegetables for bodybuilders,weightlifters, and to build muscle but it also helps in the prevention of weight gain and allows for weight loss in the process.

One of the major benefits of broccoli is that it contains a significant amount of fiber, which kick starts your metabolism and allows for the breakdown of foods to be easier (regulating your digestive system). Also broccoli contains vitamin C for a natural energy boost along with sulforaphane which is an antioxidant that prevents cancer. With the various minerals and vitamins in it from vitamin C and K to fiber and folate, it helps reduce and prevent fat storage in the body.

So just as your mother would say, eat your veggies, you will grow big, strong, and of course...LEAN!

Love broccoli. And not the cheese covered variety. ;) I try to work it into most of my meals.
