I'm just getting back to exercising again. My main goal is slimming down. I'm not real interested in bulking up a lot, just want to be toned. Any advice would sure be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Jefit

The main thing you want to consider is your diet, get that in check and your 90% there!
Otherwise focus on cardio and anything that raises your heartrate and gets your sweating will help, even if it's just cleaning or walking to the shops!
and when in the gym focus on lighter weights and higher reps, so say you can do 50KG for 10 reps, drop down to 35/40 and aim for 20 reps to help tone up your muscles
