Hello Friend,

Thanks for regarding your information. I would like to say that, if your gain the weight you should make the schedule of the exercise and diet program and follow it regularly. Another thing is that you should concern with the doctor to prescribe the protein powder and multi vitamin medicines or thinks.

Thanks a lot for your help!!

In my opinion high calories food and protein is best for weight gain. You can eat eggs and vegetables. Protein shake is good for weight gain. Bodybuilders drink protein shake regularly.

Hi Albert,
List of some food helps you in gaining weight, do add them in your daily meals.
Baked potatoes, granola, pasta, fried food, white flour products. Drink fruit juice in packages and soft drinks.

Eat lots of good calories. Get them from protein and complex carbs.

Avoid eating fats, and avoid eating bad carbs (sugars).

If you do not bother to take in good carbs, your body will eat your muscles to replenish the lost energy and then you'll never gain any weight.

Exactly, you want to make sure that you are taking in healthy, fiber full and of course complex carbs as well as any foods from lean proteins and so forth. Stay away from heavy fatty foods, bad carbs, sugary and starchy foods as that will only roadblock your goal for putting on mass (healthy lean mass of course).

Eat brown rice, Whole Wheat and Whole Grain Pastas, any type of beans like Black Beans/Kidney Beans (make sure you drain out the sodium though/juices its resting in) , Sweet Potatoes, A baked potato isn't bad every once in a while, lean chicken, ground beef, pork, steaks and so forth, even eat some broccoli, corn, carrots and other veggies. You just want to make sure that you are staying away from White Rice, White Pasta and anything that may seem to be gluten and starchy foods as it will help you gain weight/put on mass but not the type of mass you want

Terrence, Mutton is a very fatty meat and is hardly to be considered a "healthy food".

Kind Regards
Dave

Edited to add; Mutton isn't an "unhealthy food" either, by the way, it's all down to moderation. Eat everything in balance is the best way and keep "junk food" to a minimum and restricted to "cheat days".

it's all in the numbers.... it all boils down to calories.

you have to eat more calories than you burn. how many depends on your body type & how intensive your W/O is. go more carb heavy with high metabolism. maybe 60% carbs to 30% protein, to 10% fat (good kind... olive oil, salmon, nuts, egg yokes). if you dont gain, increase the carbs & fat a bit more. just make sure you are dont drop the protein below 2-300 grams.

but eat smart fat, lean meats, whole grains, eggs, protein shakes.... don't over stuff yourself, but eat often. Every couple hours.

lighten cardio will also help.

Drink a half gallon of milk a day. Add 2 scoops of muscle milk and that's about 1000 calories and 100 grams of protein.

Not sure that Butter and Cream are going to gain the kind of weight that most people on this forum would be interested in. Or "Fried" anything, for that matter.

Protein foods are more beneficial for the weight gain purposes.
Protein foods increase the weight in shape of the muscle rather than fat.
You should take natural protein foods instead of the protein supplements or protein powder.

3 pb&j sammiches a day betwixt meals, lol.

eat. a lot. you sound like a true ectomorph and you're gonna struggle to put on weight regardless. I wouldn't worry about how healthy your food is for now (don't drink bacon grease or anything), just f***n eat. Eat til you wanna throw up, then have dessert. People will tell you to eat this and that to put on lean, healthy mass; but your problem is that you most likely just don't eat, and putting away the 3,000 calories+ that you need to take on mass is gonna be hard to do on grilled chicken and baked fish. In the incredibly unlikely scenario that you start to get "fat", just go back to your old ways and your psycho metabolism will cut you down in no time.

if you wanna be healthy about it, eat as you do and eat what you like, and just make yourself a "hardgainer shake" after workouts.

normal dose of protein powder in milk/soymilk/almondmilk
a hefty slab of peanut butter
tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup egg white, or a whole egg. I use the pasteurized liquid egg product so I don't have to worry about salmonella
maybe half a banana

800 calories

Hmmmm well if you are looking for a clean weight gain you can eat....

Oatmeal
Chicken
Lean Steaks
Lean Beef
Whole Wheat Pasta
Quinoa
Sweet Potatoes
Veggies
Brown Rice
Black Beans
Kidney Beans
PB and J sandwiches with "Better N Peanut Butter" so you aren't having too much fat.
Lean Cheeseburgers
Lean Chicken Sandwiches
Tuna
Salmon
Whole Wheat Pancakes (Brand from Trader Joes or Whole Foods) and mix in some protein powder/flax meal and oats so that they are healthy pancakes
Skim Milk
Cottage Cheese

or even if you get really hungry treat yourself to a whole Rotissary Chicken like I used to do every Friday last summer, of course the grilled type and not any fried chicken as that would be detrimental to what you are trying to accomplish

Hi Albert,
To gain weight increase your calories, eat lots of snacks and increae your number of daily meals. Add smarter food more in your diet plan, and drink energy fluids. Lift weights, take supplements and consume lots of proteins.
