View Full Version : Where do you go to get your supplements?

Hey all,
I was just wondering, what type of options do you guys use to buy your supplements (those who do indeed take supplements for workouts)
Do you use online stores like bb.com, prosource.net, gnc.com, vitaminshoppe.com and so forth? Is there a specific and dedicated source that you shop to get the cheapest and reliable prices for the supplement that you are getting? Why do you shop online rather than go to a physical store?
For those of you who go to the physical store instead, do you go to GNC, Vitaminshoppe, or do you have another store you shop at? Why do you shop at a store rather than purchase online?
I am just trying to get a sense of what people go through to get their supplements and (since I shop online) where to get some of the best prices, customer service and save myself the time and hassle.
Honestly for myself, I shop wherever I can get the best price for what I am purchasing, I am not looking to get ripped off and overspend on a product that I can get 20$ cheaper on another site or store. I typically don't have any preference, as long as it saves on my wallet, then I purchase from that seller.
What about all of you?

Vitamin Shoppe usually (actual store). But I'm going to start looking around a bit more since they lack variety. I like to change up my flavors fairly often.

GNC, and my gym usually has a deal on protein powders so I usually buy from them.

Haha I have never had Popeye's before to be honest with you, fried chicken never sat well with my stomach when I was a kid and up till now. Bad things happen with fried chicken and me :(

Muscle and Fitness and all of the bodybuilding magazines always promote popeyes and I have been meaning to look at what they have in the store (even though I couldn't buy from there and doesn't make sense being in NC ordering from Canada haha) Seems like a decent site and store though with great deals

Yeah, they're not too bad. Only been there once. Wanted to try out Assault (GNC doesn't carry it here) but they were all out. Ended up trying NO Xplode instead.

I love NO Xplode, one of the first that I have ever tried, actually just picked up NO Xplode 2.0 because I had 3 tubs of Assault and now wanting to try something new and they came out with a new formula so decided to pick it up.
What did you think of NO Xplode? First time trying it?

Yeah, first time trying it. Its not too bad, 3rd PO I've tried. First one I tried was Nano Vapor. Got a sample of Decimate from GNC, found that one to work really good. I was told there would be a tingling feeling but didn't feel that.

Well I guess people have different preferences to certain types of PWO and Stimulants. I took NANO Vapor before but I got over hyper and then made my stomach not feel so hot. Super Pump 250 was Super Dump 250 so that was no fun but the pump and muscle strength you get from that is phenomenal.
Also could be due to the amount of scoops you were taking too but always good to try new products here and there, helps you build a tolerance and see what works for you rather than dishing money out for a product that is doing squat for your pre-workout pump.

90% of the time, it's bb.com. I actually walked into GNC a couple of weeks ago 'cos I wanted to try MuscleTech's Neurocore, although their prices and sales practices usually keep me out of the store.
bb.com seems to be dropping products with 1,3 dimeth and TTA, so I just placed an order thru illpumpyouup.com. We'll see how that works out.

I usually get everything at BB.com. GNC prices are way too high compared to BB. only inconvience is waiting for the order to arrive. They also give free gifts. so far in free shit ive gotten a few shakers, a body fat caliper, stainless steel water bottles, and lifting gloves.

Its quite crazy for me with the types of stores that I shop upon, when GNC has online deals I go right for GNC but just depends on the prices and the one reason I shop there from time to time is that I have a free years subscription to Shoprunner so I get Free 2 Day shipping for a whole year (though of course im going to cancel that subscription soon haha, dont want to get scammed) but I shop off of vitaminshoppe.com as they offer up great deals along with free shipping, dpsnutrition.net and sometimes BB.com, allstarhealth is also good but I try to shop around and look for the best deals along with shipping prices for a product that I really want as I don't feel like dishing out 10$ shipping plus 50$ for a product that I can get for 27.99$ plus free shipping.
It is just a matter of patience and searching around plus the best part about this time of the year is that many people aren't exercising as much with the weather changes and with the holidays coming up, companies are really going to be pushing their products out to get sold thus meaning deals will be abroad left and right and many sites like GNC, BB.com and so forth will have holiday specials where you can get up to 50% of or more on certain products plus free gifts and shipping. Just a matter of timing and knowing when and where to look ;)

Let me know how this goes for you, that website has awesome prices, but how much did the shipping run you, and for how many supplements. Their prices beat the hell out of gnc's gold card, even on ON's pro complex (which I live on) so I'm very interested.

I do the research through Bodybuilding.com and order from them sometimes. they have the best information and selection of products.
When I find what I want I just sheach through Google and go through a few sites.
Bodybuilding.com and vitaminshoppe close and beat eachother by 5 or 10 bucks some times so check both also Vitaminshoppe will match the online sale price in the store if you print it out and carry it in which will save 5 or 10 bucks a pop sometimes.
Also I shop the manufactures and amazon.
I just bought 25 lbs of nutrex- muscle intustion black protein. and amazon beat bodybuilding.com by $20 per 5 pounds thats why I bought so much.
When I find a great deal I buy a bunch last deal I found I bought 80lbs of muscle gauge nutrition for $300
The other supps I took when playing football and benching 500lbs I cant share my source lol.
