View Full Version : Same workout log each other! Annoying!

I've posted this a few times with no response. Hopefully I can get one here.
I just updated to pro and this is driving me nuts.
Some of my workouts will cover say 3 to 5 workouts in a row, take a break, and then repeat those workouts again before moving on to the next set. So basically I'll end up repeating say seated curls. So I'll log 35 pounds for say 12 reps. When I come back around, Ill do say 6. Then when I check both logs, it will say 6! Completely messing me up for the next workout. Why doesn't this keep the different workout data? How do I fix this? Is this a bug?
Its overriding my first set with the numbers from the last one! How can this be fixed? I thought the pro version covered this.

I have pro and have added duplicate lifts in the same day on the same log; never had a problem with it not submitted both. Are you "editing" a previous one to duplicate or are you "creating" a new one each time?

Well I created the workout in advance and they are custom workouts. So I would go in and create for example, "alternating shoulder lifts". I'd add it and then follow up and add two other workouts. Then I'd repeat those three. So when I go back, my logs will reflect the same workouts and weight in the example of "alternating shoulder lifts" despite me changing and logging different reps.

Sounds like you need to do what decu is doing; add them as separate lifts. I do that pretty often with circuits.

lightingbird, here are two suggestions.
1. Preset your work, doesn't matter if using Built-IN DB or Custom DB. Put your sequence of what you do for the first 3 exercises and then re-enter them again; so that they show twice. When you do that workout ensure you select each separate; do not select the exercise that you finished earlier as that shows the reps and weight you did. That is edit mode; stay out of that.
2. Continue what you are doing however don't click on the exercise you just you completed, again you are in edit mode. Select it again so it is fresh and no numbers are present so that when you create it works as intended.
Hope this helps. If not and maybe if you can explain what you are doing better.

I'm not sure I understand what your saying. It sounds like you explaining what I have already tried. I'm not going back editing anything, I just go with the flow of the workout I designed. Here is an example.
Alternating Shoulder presses
In and out bicep curls
triceps dumbbell kickbacks
break
Alternating Shoulder presses
In and out bicep curls
triceps dumbbell kickbacks
So basically after I have did both of these sets my same weight and reps will be the same for each section. Like in and out biceps will both be say 50lb dumbbells at 11 reps despite me going through the routine adding one as 11 reps and the second as 6 reps. The only reason I upgraded was because Pro is supposed to let you have logs for individual workouts. I'm assuming you mean "edit" mode as to say one goes back over them again to input data or make changes. I am just going right down my generated workout plan in order.

I have to be honest lightingbird, I don't think either of us are understanding the other; sorry.
Can I ask, when you set up your routine, did it ask for how many reps? Did you enter reps? When I set mine up it asked for reps but I blanked it out; how am I suppose to know how many reps I'm going to do until I do them. I leave the weight and reps section blank so that when I pull up my routine for that day I have to enter both of those number manually. When I'm done that exercise in that routine I select "CREATE". I have accidentally hit "CREATE" twice and than 2 records appear of the same thing. This is why I can't understand your problem as I have been able to do this. I then have to go back and delete the same record whereas you would keep. Yours wouldn't necessarily be a duplicate as may have different weights and reps but it should work.

Is it not as simple as just duplicating the exercise?

Wow this is frustrating.
Yes this is EXACTLY what I am doing. I'm duplicating the workouts on purpose. The problem is that when I go through a routine like the one in this image, at the end of the workout, all off of those duplicate workouts have the same weights and reps. Regardless of what I inputted for each one. I honestly don't see how this is confusing. Take the image that deviation put up for example.
See how he has dumbbell side bends listed? It is listed three different times. For my example say I was going to do it 6 different times.
So then this is my example results as I go through the workout.
1. 50lbs 15 reps
2. 50lbs 12 reps
3. 50lbs 6 reps
4. 40lbs 12 reps
5. 40lbs 8 reps
6. 35lb 10 reps.
OK! See how they are different results? So lets say I finish that workout and after I save it I go back for the repeat workout that week or the following week. All six of those workouts will be listed as 35lb 10 reps! So I will not have a accurate listing of what I did for the next workout.
Understand now? I think I might just go back and label them as 2, and 3's to get around this. This is just annoying and the only reason I upgraded. Its only $5 so I'll just eat it.

I'm not sure what your talking about but no, I'm not doing that. It almost sounds like you are creating your workout on the fly. Either way, no thats not remotely what I mean. I think my last post explained it well.
Anyone know how to resolve this if possible?

That makes more sense now. Kind of tough to convey without seeing it. It does that to me as well. I have to go back to the logs to see what was done. It is an annoyance, but I'm not sure how they'd get around it.
