    Question Am i under weight?

I'm 15 and 125lbs. Other boys in my grade are around 130.
I eat a lot but don't gain weight. Maybe i have a fast metabolism?

What do you eat? If you're eating unhealthy foods (fried stuff, simple/white carbs, artificial and highly processed foods), you aren't properly feeding your body, and you won't grow. I wouldn't worry about a 5 lb difference between you and your friends. My weight fluctuates by close to that much, which just goes to show that it isn't a great indicator of body size/fitness.

If you want to put on some pounds, start lifting (go to the bulking forums for some ideas), and eat well. Up your calorie intake with your activity level, but make sure you're making good food choices. Aim for complex carbs (oatmeal, brown rice), lean protein, and plenty of veggies.

At your age, you still have a decent amount of growing to do anyway, but now is as good a time as any to start making yourself better.

    Good luck!

To grow muscle - especially when you are still growing overall - you really have to max your protein intake. The easiest and quickest way to do this is with whey protein shakes (but it would be a good idea to add plenty of chicken, turkey, fish and so on to your diet). I Never put on any size until I started to have at least three such shakes a day.

It does sound like you have a fast metabolism. You need to encourage your body to use carbs and fats only for energy and to use protein for building muscle. If you are not getting enough carbs and enough protein, then some of your protein will be deaminated and used for energy instead of anabolism. Only by "swamping" your system with protein can you overcome that.

Eat well and exercise optimally. Those are the key. Even so, you may find you can't build bulk until you have stopped developmental growth which may be in your mid twenties. Depends on your genetics as much as anything else.

    Kind Regards
    Dave
