    Restricted Back Strengthening

I've had a search around and am finding that my inexperience is showing when trying to develop this part of my routine. Both myself and training partner have had lower back injuries unrelated to training in the past. We are training three times a week for about an hour, but are starkly aware that we are not working our backs because we are worried about them. In addition, my mate has had a bike accident affecting his leg which means he can only perform laying, sitting or straight leg standing exercises. Our equipment consists of benches, barbells, dumbbells and bands.

What we are looking for is a set of back strengthening exercises which we can fit into one or two of our days, gradually regaining strength without causing concern.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Steve

Is this spinal or soft tissue injury or both? There are some lower back resistance workouts that can be applied, but would really have to know the precise damage and how long ago the damage occurred.
