Ok, so I've been going to the gym aprox 5 weeks now, I've lost aprox 10-12 lbs. I've decided to get a pwo to hell push me harder at the gym. I got cellucor c4 extreme. Hoping to see some results from this. Monday I plan on killing my chest with a "run the rack" dumbbell press workout.
had a good chest and tri workout today. Was first day taking the Cellucor C4 Extreme(1 scoop), and I don't think I felt anything..... Maybe Wednesday I'll try 1.5 scoops....
Well, I hope that's not the case, because I've got 3 tubs of this stuff. Lol. I'll try 1.5 scoops then 2, if I feel nothing, then I guess I'll just give em to someone
Best to start low like you're doing. I know the majority of pre-workouts, I end up taking the max dose after a while. I have a pretty high tolerance. Cycling on/off with them can help.
Ok, so Wednesday I took 1 3/4 scoop of c4 before I left the house.... Normally a 10 minute drive to the gym, except this time I get stuck waiting for a train... I was almost to the gym and I started to get an annoying tingling feeling all over. I assume that was the pwo kicking in. Felt like I was able to push harder through the workout. I'm definitely experiencing more DOMS than usual. I took that on an empty stomach.
Today, I took two scoops(after 2 pieces of bacon) and didn't notice much of a boost at all... I do 5-6 minutes of cardio before I hit the weights...so am I "wasting" the pwo by running first? When I received my pwo they included a couple packs of another pwo called friction... Maybe I'll give that one a shot on Monday. Really disappointed in my shoulder workout today
My experience has been that PWO work best on an empty (or close to it) stomach. It will take much less time to kick in (~10 mins typically). The downside is that it can cause some gurgling and quick trip to the restroom. That tingling feeling is called parasthesia and it's likely caused by the beta-alanine in the PWO. Yes it's annoying. The good part is that you'll likely adapt to it. I don't even feel that anymore.
Cardio before lifting is preference. I've done it both ways. I prefer it after the workout if I do it on the same day.
Moral of the story for PWO: never buy more than one tub at a time. You'll either find it does nothing for you or that you need to cycle (on & off). We've all been there.
