How to add exercises from a custom database.

    To the Community:

Whenever I add exercises to a routine I get prompted to use "System" or "Custom" database.

Does anyone know how to use the Custom Database feature? My goal is to add Fitball exercises that aren't in the system database...

    TIA,

    John Sabal

Good question - I had to figure this out to add routines for my Bowflex machine. I'll try to walk you through it.
Do this from your phone (I don't know how to do this on the website):
Click on "Exercise" and then click on the body part you want to add an exercise for. That will give you the choice for "Custom DB" specifically for that body part, and that way you won't have to scroll through the whole exercise list when you are putting together your routine.
When you click on "Custom DB" for that body part for the first time, there will be no exercises listed, of course.
Click on the "Create" tab. Add whatever name you want for the particular exercise.
Under "Select Major Muscle Group", it will say"Upper Legs". Click the down arrow to the right of that to change to a different muscle group, click the button to the right to select the one you want. Then click your back button to return to the previous screen.
Then under "Select Record Type" click the arrow to select what you want to record for that exercise, and then click back to the previous screen.
If the exercise involves more than one muscle group, you can add these if desired.
Then scroll down a little to reveal the "Create" button and click it. This will enter your exercise into the custom data base for that body part, as well as the overall database.
Then repeat the process for each exercise that you want to add. If you are adding an exercise for the same bodypart, you can stay in the same "Custom DB" screen for the first one you added, but if you are adding an exercise for a different body part, you need to back out back to the muscle diagram and click the appropriate body part tag first.

This will create your custom database. Then you go to "Routine" and create your new routine to include the exercises that you added.

    creating custom database from website

Okay, now I know how to do this on the website. This actually may be easier, because you can do this from one screen and use your computer keyboard.

Click on "MY JEFIT" at the top of the page.
In the small window on the left, click on "My Exercises".
On the page that comes up, you can create custom exercises in the window at the top.
