I listen to quite a bit and if not in the mood just skip the song. I have around 5000 songs including "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. LOL

I typically like to listen to rock when working out; hard rock. Bands like Three Days Grace, Art of Dying, 12 Stones, RED, Skillet, Alter Bridge, Creed, Stone Sour, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Bullet Proof Messenger, Rains, Ra, Chevelle, Crossfade, Digital Summer, Element Eighty, Evans Blue, Five Finger Death Punch, Fort Foot Echo, Harem Scarem, Hinder, Linkin Park (agreed, older stuff), Neverset, Papercut Massacre, Shinedown, Since October, Smile Empty Soul, Submersed, Theory of a Deanman, Nickleback, Thousand Foot Crutch, Trapt, Trust Company, Tupelo Honey, 10 Years, 32 Leaves, etc.

Ohhh "Eye of the Tiger" haha, well that is a classic song that gets people motivated, of course going Rocky style on your workouts.

I love seeing fellow metal heads and those who enjoy the hard rock music lifting and using rock to get motivated for lifting. Its great music to listen to and to get your blood pumping and flowing and nothing beats an fast-paced guitar/drum solo right in the middle of a bench press or bicep curls. Mid-lift intensity is what we all need to make those gains.

I do enjoy rap but mostly hip-hop like Jurassic 5 and The Roots but rock and metal are what needs to be blaring the gym to get that tension and anger out and take it out on the weights

While I posted my play list, I just wanted to point out that I don't listen to music to motivate me. I listen to music to fill the air with something other then silence. To me it doesn't matter what is playing as long as there is noise. I have been lifting for over 13 years and am self motivated. Not doing anything is motivation enough to get me to lift. Just throwing that out there.

My gym has wifi, so I stream Pandora internet radio. My mix a is combination of some metal/hard rock (Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Breaking Benjamin, Pantera, Rob Zombie, etc.) and electonic music (DJ Baby Ann, DJ Icey, other drum 'n' bass, jungle, breakbeats).

Pandora is a cool internet radio. I used to use this all of the time; found a lot of new groups this way as it tries to match what music style you like. Then you have the option of "yes" I like and find more like it or "no" don't like. Unfortunately they found out I'm not from the US from my IP address so after years of use they blocked me. It seems they don't have rights in Canada but are working on it; and have been for years as they have never moved ahead. Worth taking a look at.

I love pandora as sometimes I get bored of listening to the same album over and over again and just looking for bands with that sound which will get me pumped up for my workouts.

That is lame that they dont have the rights in Canada just yet because after the few years that pandora has been out, you would think that those rights would have been bypassed and taken care of already but its extremely beneficial to have while lifting so that you don't have to listen to the Top100 radio station that many radio stations play which only contains lady gaga, kesha and all of the crap music that is out today.

Sometimes it honestly makes me want to lift in pure silence so I can focus on breathing rather than hearing Lady GaGa with Born this way about 100000 times over and over again... my lord haha.

Must admit though techno and electronic music is my guilty pleasure while lifting, many people find it nerdy but my god some of the beats are ridiculous, ie - Celldweller, Pendulum, Daft Punk, Andy Hunter, Justice and Bonobo
