    Question do i really need special drinks after working out

    hi im new here and new to the gym too.
    i decided to become a member at my local workout.
    im now wondering can i just workout an hour at 5 days a week or
    would it be better to work out then drink those powder drinks
    i see others do? what do that drink really do? lol

    i have never gym before and after years of abuse my belly is
    all over the place (way too much guinness / beer / whiskey) LOL

    im terrified ... i went to the gym today and signed up, then
    a worker showed me around LOL i dont even know how to operate
    the machines that i saw hahahah.

    anyway what do you guys eat or drink after working out.....
    oohh yea... can i still smoke LOL

    i just remembered, i need some sort of program that i can work with
    it must be for a newbie like me, im not training to be like Arnold or
    that rambo or rocky fella. i just want to feel great and get back to
    shape as currently i cant see ma balls LOL

    Welcome To JEFIT and the JEFIT Community! Always great to meet and find out about our newest members and fantastic to hear that you want to begin working out and getting into shape. Its always a good thing to make that first step towards a healthier you and to increase your longevity of life.

    Well in terms of your first paragraph, of course you can work out for an hour for 5 days a week because normally you are supposed to workout for around 50 minutes per day (The recommended amount of time to workout) which allows your metabolism to kick up and begin to lose weight. For the powdered drinks, protein shakes are meant to rebuild your muscles after a day of lifting or even taken before you lift, when you wake up, before you go to bed, at all times of the day to allow you to get more energy, get more protein in your diet and allow you to rebuild your muscles.

    Other powdered drinks are NO-Products which are pre-workout supplements, this means that they give you an extra boost of caffeine, expand your blood vessels so that you get more oxygen throughout your bloodstream and through your body and give you more creatine for an extra boost of muscle and strength. Another is creatine powder which creatine is a natural supplement in your body that helps you boost and gain muscle but with creatine powder you gain more strength and able to build muscle faster.

    Don't be afraid to go into the gym though, feel positive knowing that you are there to help yourself out, your not there to be intimidated, your there to exercise, to see results and make yourself healthier. When you first starting using the machines you will get into a routine and with that routine it will only benefit you. Plus as your using JEFIT of course it shows you how to use the machines if you ever need any help or sense of what to do while performing the workout. You might look silly (I did my first time haha) but when you start getting into it all, you will feel like a pro and want to keep performing harder and more.

    Of course you can still eat and drink but when you are working out and wanting to lose weight, you want to eat more protein, low fat, healthy carbohydrate, and high fiber foods. Drink plenty of water and stay away from sugary juices or sodas, its ok to drink Diet Coke and Diet Products but not as often. Coffee is always good to drink but without the heavy amounts of sugar and milk added. Of course drink either Skim or 1% milk as well.

    If you want to smoke, well thats your prerogative and only you can tell yourself to stop smoking and motivate yourself to keep your lungs clean.

    If you want you can try my routine at http://www.jefit.com/routines/routine/?id=2204 which is a bulking routine but has basic starter workouts to get you going. I just do these workouts due to the equipment at my gym but can be useful.
