I have seen those shoes before and I have to say that they are quite ridiculous haha, my friend in college decided to buy them and wear them at the gym and it looked as if he were bigfoot or something. He said they are comfortable and have great gripping but they just seem out of the norm and crazy for my taste. Can't deny that great deal for the product though because those shoes are usually around 100$+ plus shipping and handling so for $60 and free, can't beat that
that particular colour looks especially horrible (to me), but although I orginally cringed when I saw these, the thought of them has grown on me (in black). They would be great for parkour, obviously, and possibly for trail running, or even just for kayaking.
I still hate "crocs" though.
I have some Five Fingers Speed (these have laces so look a little more "normal", but still odd). They might look strange but they are really really comfortable. I wear mine for just walking around town or out and about and they are great - especially for travel or if you're on your feet all day.
I understand they're really good for running in (if you learn how to run in them - you can't land on your heels) but as I don't really run I've never tried them for that.
That is the one worry I have about them is the fact that when you run and either you land on your heel or inside of your foot, im afraid of it hurting like a bitch which it looks like it might...but its a mix of looking comfy but goofy at the same time haha.
Gotta say I hate crocs as well but for the time that I have worked at Bulldog Barbecue http://www.bulldog-bbq.com/ and Saladworks, my girlfriend and I had to wear them and they are pretty comfy/great for not sliding around all over the floor. They look stupid as hell thought especially the ones who wear them with shorts in a way just like socks and sandals haha
When you run in these, you basically run like you would if you were running barefoot - you land on the balls of your feet. Your heels won't even touch (or barely touch) the ground. You use your feet, ankles, and calves to absorb the shock (as your body was designed) rather than relying on the cushioning in a typical shoe.
www.runbare.com has a bunch of great info on properly running barefoot/minimalist.
Great shoes, but not my kind of color.
I actually run barefoot when I go outside (weather permitting). It's a huge difference in a good way. Takes a bit to get the feet toughened up. The second skin stuff helps with calluses.
That is some guts and glory to run barefoot outside, im always afraid with the fact that cars are all around that something would have to fall off and pierce my foot or something haha (I know I sound like a baby but just my thoughts when I do decide to go out and jog barefoot or anything)
