General Questions

Q: Is this website free to use?

A: Yes, this site is absolutely free to use! Unlike a lot of other fitness sites, this site is free as well as all of the content and functions.

Q: Can using your program actually help me to get into shape?

A: They key to getting into shape is to exercise and eat healthy everyday and stick to a plan. You will begin to notice results in about three months.

Q: How do I find your app?

A: Check out either the Android Market JEFIT Free and JEFIT Pro , Amazon App Store JEFIT Free and JEFIT Pro or our Download Section.

Q: Is there any way I can test out your application?

A: Yes, we currently have 2 ways that you are able to test out the JEFIT Workout Application.

1. We offer the Free Version of the JEFIT Workout App that allows you to test out and try the application for yourself without having to purchase the JEFIT Pro App.

2. The Amazon App Store also allows Test Drive versions of both the JEFIT Free Workout App and the JEFIT Pro Workout App on your computers to see what JEFIT is like without having to download.

Q: Does JEFIT have Facebook and Twitter pages?

A: Yes, JEFIT has both a Facebook page at, JEFIT and a Twitter page at JefitTechnology, feel free to become a fan and follow us.

Q: Is there a JEFIT User Manual to understand the application further?

A: Yes, we do have a JEFIT User Manual for our JEFIT Members. If you go to the JEFIT User Manual page, you will be able to download your own copy to get to understand the features and functions of the JEFIT Workout Application.

Q: Why are there ads in the free version?

A: This is what allows the JEFIT team to keep developing the app. The paid version is only a few bucks and will eliminate the ads and offer a few additional features.

Q: I just downloaded this program, how do I set up exercise routines?

A: 1. click on the "Routine" button and then select the day you want to add exercises to.

2. Select the exercise or add your own custom exercise.

3. Select the Weight and Reps you would like to use.

4. Do the exercise then click the "Save & Start Timer" to save your progress and take a rest break.

Q: What does 1 RM or 1 Rep Maximum mean?

A: 1 RM is the maximum amount of weight that one can lift for a given exercise. Want more info, check here.

Q: What does the Vol C. mean?

A: The Vol C is the weight times reps times set. for example if you lift 50 pounds 8 times and do 3 sets that would be 1200 total pounds which would be the Vol C.

Q: How do I get extra features added in/or make suggestions?

A:The best place to do that would be in the feedback section. We take all suggestions seriously and will try to include them in our future updates. With that said, we are still a small team so please be reasonable and have patience.

Q: Can I add friends and view their logs and progress?

A: Yes, you are able to add friends by finding their profile through either the Member List, through the JEFIT Forums or if a friend provides you with their link to their profile. Once on the page you are able to view details about your friends, add them as a friend, view all of the routines that they have created, view all logs that have been created and comment on their pages. This is a great way for JEFIT Members to interact with each other, become friends and motivate to achieve their goals and progress further in their workouts.

Q: If I am a existing member who had an account before the email activation requirement, will I have to provide an email account to keep my JEFIT account active?

A: No, if you had an account before the email requirement you do not have to do anything.

Q: If I upgrade from the free app to the paid app will I lose all of my stats that I built up?

A: No you will not, your information and logs are stored in our server for retrieval. When tran

Q: How can I backup my data to my SD Card?

A: 1. Select the "Profile" tab. Once selected an option window will show up.

2. Click on the "Export" button. This will create a backup file on your SD card.

A: Yes, there are two ways; one is using the website and the other is using the import function.

The Website method

1. On the free version click the "Synchronize" button on the home screen. (This will sync your data with the JEFIT website.)

2. Open the Pro version and select the "Profile" Button. Then Select "New User" . A new window will show up with some options.

3. Click the button called "Login Online Account" . This will import the data that you uploaded from the JEFIT website.

-- The second way is to export your data to an SD card then import it to the Pro version.

1. Click the "Profile" tab. Once selected an option window will show up.

2. Click the option called "Export". This will create a backup file on your SD card.

3. Open the Pro version and click the "Profile" Button. Select "New User" A new window will show up with some options.

4. Click the button called "Import Data from Backup".

Q: Can I change the picture of the character for the exercise screen?

A: Yes you can. You can choose between a muscle man or a lady. Click the word called "Switch" underneath the picture.

Q: Can I put my own picture of me in for the muscle man or the lady?

A: Not at this time. Look for this in the future.

Q: What measurement system does this program use?

A: This program can use the Metric or the American standard. The default is the American Standard.

Q: My phone does not have much memory, how much does this program require?

A: This program with the animations will require about 16 megabytes of space on your phone. The animations are optional and take up 15 megabytes (MB).

Q: Is this app available in X language?

A: In the future we will include different language options.

Q: I upgraded and I lost the animations and can't get them back, what can I do?

A: There are three ways to install the animations.

Q: When will there be an iPhone version?

A: The JEFIT iPhone Bodybuilding Application has been released! Head on over to the JEFIT Itunes App Store and pick yourself up a FREE Copy of the JEFIT iPhone Workout and Bodybuilding Application. For a limited time this version will be completely ads free.

Q: What's the best way to report a bug?

A: Report the bug to the JEFIT Support Team at support@jefit.com.

Q: I have just replaced my Android or iPhone/iOS Device, how do I retrieve my previous JEFIT Pro Application Purchase?

A: In terms of being able to download the JEFIT Workout Application once again, when you purchase and download the JEFIT Pro Application, you have unlimited amount of downloads for the app and as long as you are able to log into your Android Market Account or iTunes App Store Account via your new phone you should be able to download it over again without any issue as the purchase is linked to the Android Market/iTunes Account that it was downloaded from.

1.) For Android Users : When logging into the Google Play/Android Marketplace, you will want to log into the account that you have previously used to download the JEFIT Pro Workout Application. From there it's under the "My Apps" section. You should then be able to re-download JEFIT from there. Afterward the application has be re-downloaded just open up the app and then re-sync with our server and all of your data will be brought back into the app.

2.) For iPhone/iOS Users : When logging into the iTunes App Store, you will want to log into the account that you have previously used to download the JEFIT Pro Workout Application. After logging into your account, you will want to look for "JEFIT Pro" in the iTunes App Search Navigational Section. Once the application is found you should be able to click the button that states "Install", enter in your iTunes information in again to re-download the application and our iPhone/iOS device should re-install JEFIT Pro. After the download has finished you will open up the JEFIT App and then log back into your account and re-synchronize your data.

Questions related to the ANDROID APPLICATION

Q: Can you take photos with the application and if so, how do you take Progress Photos?

A: Yes you are able to photos with the JEFIT application.

1.) To begin this process, start on the main menu and click the "My Stats" button, from the Statistics page you will see the "Picture" button right under Account Summary.

2.) Click the "Picture" button and you will be brought to a blank screen, on the bottom of the page there will be the buttons that read "Take Picture, Upload and Delete"

3.) By clicking the "Take Picture" button you initiate your phone's built in camera allowing you to take as many photos as your phone can store.

4.) Return back to the main Picture page and click the "Upload" button allowing you to select from the check boxes, which photos you would like to upload onto the server and into your profile.

5.) After you have made your selections, click "Upload" again and wait as JEFIT uploads your photos onto the server. Once the process is complete, your photos will already be in your www.jefit.com Profile.

6.) From there you can visit your online profile to see the pictures that you have uploaded and have the ability to create a progress picture photo album for other users to view.

Q: I just upgraded to JEFIT Pro, and I could not quite figure out how to add or remove routines. After clicking Routine and click "switch" an option to erase routine appeared, I deleted it but then it got stuck in a page with buttons +Day,-Day, Edit, Switch and it keeps going in a "loop". What's happened?

A: the +day means you need to add days for your new routine.

Q: What is the difference between JEFIT Free and JEFIT Pro

A: JEFIT Pro is the $4.99 version of the JEFIT Workout Application that contains more features and functions compared to the JEFIT Free Workout Application. We have created a page containing all of the features and functions that are available on JEFIT Pro that are not available on JEFIT Free, JEFIT Pro Features

Q: What is the Target Rep Feature?

A: The Target Rep feature, is a brand new functionality that ties into your logs recorded. It is a preference setting that allows the user to change their workout for the day from doing their exercises in comparison with their last logs to doing their workouts with a set target goal that the user wants to achieve.

Q: What is the Quick Timer Feature?

A: The Quick Timer feature is a brand new aspect to the Logs section of the application allowing a user to look through their logs, view an exercise and rather than starting a routine to begin an exercise, the user can record their logs and use the Quick Timer function after their workout to reference to for rest.

Q: What are Added Sets?

A: Added Sets are a new feature to the application, located in the same directory as the Quick Timer in the logs section. On this page you will notice "Plus and Minus" buttons, by clicking the plus button, you add a set to whatever exercise log that you are on. You are able to add as many extra sets that you want to the workout and it will all be recorded within your logs.

Q: What is the Instant Workout Function?

A: The Instant Workout Function is a feature on an exercise page in the exercise section. User's can click on a workout that they want to do but rather than add to their routine, there is the button that states "Do It" allowing the user to instantly perform this workout and record their logs.

Q: How do I utilize the Search Function?

A: The Search Function is a brand new feature that incorporates the revamped Detailed Exercise Database. It allows users to search for various muscle/equipment specific workouts to add to their routines.

1.) Start from the main menu and click the "Exercise" button, one in the Exercise menu click the "Select All" button on the bottom right corner, this will bring you to the Exercise Search Page.

2.) On this page you will be able to search for exercises based upon the keyword the is placed into the text field, the exact muscle group worked or the equipment involved with the workout.

3.) By entering the text such as "Barbell" you will receive all Barbell exercises. If you separate the workouts by the shoulder muscle group, you will get the shoulder exercises. With the equipment based exercises though, you will have to check or un-check the boxes to confirm you want the search to include that piece of equipment for the final outcome.

4.) After making the final decisions, click search and the JEFIT program will initiate the search for the workouts that meet the requirements.

Q: What is the Copy and Paste Function?

A: The copy and paste function is a new feature that allows users to duplicate either their created routines, user created routines or exercises within the the routines themselves.

1.) To copy and duplicate your own created routine, start off on the main menu and click the "Routine" button to be brought to the routines menu. Once on this menu, click and hold down on any routine that you want to make a duplicate of, a pop up box should appear asking you if you would like to duplicate this routine, then by clicking yes, your entire routine will be copied into the main routine menu.

2.) To copy and duplicate a user-created routine, start off the same beginning steps as duplicating your own but once on the main routine menu, click the "Switch Routines" button on the bottom right corner, this will bring you to the routine switch screen. On this page there will be a new button called "Copy/Paste", by clicking this button you will be able to make a duplicate of a downloaded routine from another user.

3.) To copy and duplicate an exercise in your routine, you follow the same exact steps as duplicating a routine, but this time make sure you are looking at the exercises in your routine then click and hold on an exercise that you would like to duplicate.

Q: What is the Stopwatch Functionality?

A: The Stopwatch Functionality is a new feature integrated into the JEFIT Workout Application that allows users to time the workout or exercise that they are currently performing. When opening up the Weight/Rep Recording page, the user will notice a separate section that will feature a box containing "00:00" referencing to the Stopwatch functionality (iPhone Pro Versions) or a Stopwatch Button (Android Free and Pro Versions) to activate this function. With the new Weight/Rep Recording page on the Android Device, users will be able to start the Stopwatch and after either the workout, exercise or cardio is complete, the JEFIT Workout Application will automatically fill in the data for your logs.

Q: What is the Interval Timer Functionality?

A: The Interval Countdown Timer is a count down timer functionality, perfect for those exercises that you would like to perform for a certain time limit. The user is able to set the designated amount of time that they would like to assign to that exercise and click the start button which will initiate the count down timer until it reaches 0. Users are then able to enter in the amount of weight and reps that they have performed for that exercises after the time limit finished.

Q: Am I able to create multiple profiles on my JEFIT App?

A: Currently right now, no. The JEFIT Workout Application only allows for the creation of 1 user profile, we are though working on an update that will allow users to create up to 2 profiles per application (It could be more depending on the response) and hoping to release a personal trainer app that will feature up to 20 or more created profiles. Stay tuned for more information

Questions related to the IPHONE BODYBUILDING APPLICATION

Q: When will there be an iPhone version?

A: The JEFIT iPhone Bodybuilding Application has been released! Head on over to the JEFIT Itunes App Store and pick yourself up a FREE Copy of the JEFIT iPhone Workout and Bodybuilding Application. For a limited time this version will be completely ads free.

Q: What is the current iPhone Version that is out right now?

A: The current version that has been released for the iPhone is Version 3.42, we made a Blog Post regarding what was included in this update.

Q: What platforms is the iPhone Bodybuilding Application available for?

A: The JEFIT iPhone Bodybuilding Application is available for all iOS Devices from the iPhones 1 - 4s, the iPod Touch and the iPad. The only requirement is iOS 4.0 or later to run the application.

Q: What functions are currently available for the JEFIT iPhone Application?

A: On both the Features and Products pages, there is information and detail describing which features are currently available for the JEFIT iPhone Application.

Q: How come all of the features for the Android Application aren't currently available for the iPhone Application?

A: We are currently transitioning the features from the Android to the iPhone, we have to re-code certain sections but are finishing up adding all features so that both iPhone and Android Free Versions are equal in features and functions. With each update for the Android Application, the iPhone App will receive the same update or vice versa.

Questions related to the WEBSITE

Q: I forgot my user name and password. I put in my email and haven't received anything back.

A: We will work hard to process your request as soon as possible, please email the JEFIT Support Team at support@jefit.com.

Q: How do I upload my data to the JEFIT website?

A: You click the "Profile" button under the Home screen, then click the button called "Synchronize".

Q: How do I create a Progress Picture Photo Album?

A: If you go to this link on the forums, Progress Photos, there is a step by step tutorial on how to create a Photo Album.

Q: Are other users able to see my Profile Picture and Progress Pictures on my profile?

A: No, other users are not able to view your profile picture or progress pictures, the only way that other JEFIT members can view your pictures is if you create a Photo Album on the forums and change the privacy settings on these photos from private to everyone. Your pictures are the privacy of you and you alone unless you allow other users to view your photos in an album.

Q: Are other JEFIT Members able to comment on my page and view my statistics

A: Yes, with the latest update and changes that we have made to the JEFIT Website, we have provided the ability for users to comment on another user's profile page as well as view their lifting log statistics, their shared routines, exercises and so forth. Though a user has to change their profile privacy settings to allow another user to view their profile and progress.

Q: Is there currently a JEFIT Store that I can buy either JEFIT Clothing, Gear or the Application itself?

A: There is not a JEFIT store just yet, we are working on providing JEFIT Workout Clothing, bottles and other gear for our JEFIT Community Members. A store to download our application hasn't been set up yet but we do have a Download Page where you can purchase or download either the JEFIT Pro Application or JEFIT Free Version.

Q: Do you have a Nutritional Section of the website?

A: Right now we do not have a nutritional feature but in our forums, we have a Nutritional Section that features information and posts about nutrition, foods, supplements, weight loss and diet plans provided by other JEFIT Members.

Questions related to the ACCOUNT SETTINGS

Q: Is there a way that I can change my Profile Preferences?

A: Yes, there are 2 ways that you are able to edit and change your Profile Preferences. The first way being of which logging into your JEFIT Account and on the left panel clicking on "Profile Preferences" that will allow you to change your settings in the JEFIT Community. Secondly you can go HERE and edit your profile preferences.

Q: How can I change my Email and Password to my account?

A: The way that you are able to change your email and password to your account is logging into your JEFIT Account and on the left panel clicking on "Email/Password" that will allow you to change your both options. You are also able to go HERE and edit your information.

Q: If I still have not received my new password to my account, what should I do?

A: If you still haven't received an email, you should contact the JEFIT Support team at support@jefit.com and we will be able to manually give you a temporary password or change your password to something of your preference. At times this can be an issue with our server/database not sending out emails thus it is easier for us to be able to manually give you a new password.

Q: Am I able to set my privacy settings to allow only certain members to see my information?

A: Yes, we have recently just added in the Privacy Settings page that a user will be able to set their information to be able to be viewed by Everyone, JEFIT Members, Friends Only, Yourself Only and Customize all of the fields. This page is located at http://www.jefit.com/my-jefit/privacy, it is important to set these settings to allow your fellow members to interact with you and even provide motivation and support on your gains. We recommend that each user keeps their privacy settings set to JEFIT Members only.

Q: How do I delete my JEFIT Account, I no longer require my profile?

A: We are saddened to hear that you want to delete your JEFIT Account but completely understand. We have introduced the new Account Deletion functionality on the My-JEFIT Profile Pages on the Left-Panel called "Account Deletion". From there you will have to enter in your password to your profile then confirm the deletion, thus all of your data and information will be permanently removed from the JEFIT Server. Hopefully in the future we will see you as a JEFIT Member!

Questions related to EXERCISES

Q: The exercise I see is not on the list, what can I do?

A: It's easy to add your own custom exercise. Click the "Exercise" button, then click the area you want to add it to say "Abs" for instance, then click "Custom Exercise" then click the "Create Exercise" button. Follow the prompts on the following screen.

Q: Can I see a list of all the exercises available?

A: Yes you can. Go to the Home page and click the "Exercise" button and click "Show All". You will see a list of all the available exercises that are built in.

Q: When I go to my routine and start an exercise, in some cases, last logs show all 0s, but when I click on Logs, there is the history for that exercise?

A: This was actually designed that way. Some people might do high reps/low weight in Day 1,but low reps/high weight in day 2 (for a mix endurance and strength routine). So the next week, they still can view last logs for different reps/weight combination. Also the last logs on weight/reps recording page is attached to that particular routine only.

Q: Why can I not see the complete history logs for a particular exercise?

A: This is a feature included only in the Pro Version. You can access it by selecting the exercise and clicking the "Logs" button.

Q: Can I edit the amount of sets for each exercise?

A: Yes you can.

1. Navigate to the home screen and select "Routine" or select the "Routine" tab if in a different part of the program.

2. Click the day that you want to modify. A new window will show with a list of exercises for that day.

3. Look in the lower right-hand corner and click the "+- Timer/Sets" button.

4. That button when selected will open a page called "Change Rest Timer and Sets". Adjust numbers you want to change by tapping them and enter the value you want.

Q: Can I edit the rest time for each exercise?

A: Yes, read above... ( the timer number is listed in seconds)

Q: Can you create and edit custom exercises using JEFIT?

A: Yes you are able to create and customize exercises in both the JEFIT Application and JEFIT Website.

1.) JEFIT Application - When opening up the JEFIT Application you will want to click on the "Exercise" button and then the "All" button to view all of the exercises provided by the JEFIT Workout Application. Once on this page you will notice the "Custom DB" button and you will want to then click that button to be brought to the custom exercise database of all exercise that you have created or aren't officially in the JEFIT Exercise Database. On this page you will look for the "Add" button which will then enable the ability for you to create a new custom exercise that you can track using the weight/rep recording page and add it to your routines.

2.) JEFIT Website - On the JEFIT Website you will want to log into your "My-JEFIT" page and on the left panel you will click the "My-Exercises" button. You will then be brought to the custom exercise page where you can view all of the custom exercises that are currently in your personal database along with the ability to create a custom exercise to add to a routine and track logs. From there you will create an exercise, edit all of the details and information for the exercise and then save the data. After the creation of the exercise you can either track logs through the website or open up the JEFIT Application, click synchronize thus bringing the exercise into the app and then start recording logs.

Questions related to ROUTINES

Q: Where can I get ideas for Routines?

A: On the JEFIT website. First check out the forum page and look under "Workout Routine Sharing". Second, you can look at the "ROUTINES" tab to get ideas about what other people are doing.

Q: Can I download Routines posted online?

A: Routines are available to download by clicking on a routine that you have interest in on the Routine Database. From there you will notice the download button next to the Routine Description section and you will then click the download button. This will download the routine into your account and then synchronize with your JEFIT Workout Application. You can then set the routine as your default routine either through the JEFIT Website or JEFIT Application.

1.) JEFIT Website - On the JEFIT Website, you will want to log into your My-JEFIT account and on your My-JEFIT Page click on the button that states "Routine Manager" on the left panel. This will re-direct you to the routine manager page that will allow you to look through the various routines that you have in your account. Find the routine that you would like to set as your default and you will notice the button on above the description that will read "Set as Current". Click this button and that routine will be set as the current routine that you will be performing in your workouts. Synchronize your JEFIT Workout Application and you will be ready to perform the set routine.

2.) JEFIT Application - Through the JEFIT Application you will want to first synchronize the application as soon as you run the program, this will then bring in the routine that you have downloaded from the JEFIT Website into your app. After click on the routine button, then look for the button that reads "Routine Manager" and click on the routine that you have just downloaded and want to set as your default. Once you have clicked on the routine you will look for the "Set as Default" button that will then set that routine as the default workout that you will then perform and keep logs for.

Q: Can I copy and paste Routines from one day to use for another day or another Routine set that I created?

A: We actually have this feature available for Pro users called the Copy and Paste feature.

Q: Can I post my Routines so that my friends can see them?

A: Yes you can. Under your online profile, You will see your Routines. Click the "Share" button for each one you want to publish. Routines that you have published will appear under the "ROUTINES" page of the website

Q: The routines I made on my phone are not available in the web version, all my progress is saved but I can't access it.

A: All routines in your phone should sync to the web automatically.

Technical Questions

Q: Currently I am having an issue with my JEFIT Workout App not synchronizing with the server and receiving an �Invalid Format Response� Error, what should I do?

A: For those who are receiving "Invalid Format Response" errors, this error is a result of you not having the latest version of the JEFIT Workout Application. It is important to make sure that you have the latest version of JEFIT for the device that you are currently using.

Q: Is there a JEFIT User Manual to understand the application further?

A: We no longer have the JEFIT User Manual but rather we have a tutorial page that will allow users to easily find the tutorials they need to learn how to correctly use the JEFIT Workout Application. Visit the Tutorial Page for more information about how to use JEFIT.

Q: When I set my phone screen to go to sleep the timer for the exercise does not sound until after I wake my screen. What can I do?

A:

1. Go to the Home Screen.

2. Select Preference button

3. Look for the option called Keep Timer Screen On and choose Always On

Q: I am from a country that uses the metric system. How can I change the units to be on the metric system.

A: Click the Preference button under the Home screen and select the units you want for Length and Mass.
