hello my girlfriend was recently telling she wanted to get in shape using cardio, while toning her muscles with a small amount of weight training. does anyone have any advice i can give her as i know very little about women's health regimes.

First tell her weight training won't turn her into an amazon. Second, she'll get bored with a bunch of cardio (as in elliptical, treadmill, etc.). Sign up at a place that does classes. My wife does Zumba and loves it. She does another class called Butts & Guts which uses some light weights.

Lastly, if she's after that perfect butt get her doing squats. ;)
