Succuss so far? Before and after pics

I lost 84 pounds by the end of last year...I fell completely off my diet and gained back 20...Here we go for round two...I need to lose another 50!

I was looking through all my really big pictures and then started to notice the progression... So I hit slideshow and uploaded to youtube.. What a motivator!

Looking forward to the next 50! This time I'm lifting too. Link is below. Cut and paste I guess? New to the whole forum thing

Good effort, if you did it once you can certainly do it again!

Some people have little to no DOMS. Others have it every time. I find light cardio and stretching afterwards goes a long way.

Personally I find that, after a period of not using the gym, it takes about 5 days for the DOMS to subside, when using the gym regularly it takes about 2 days (and the DOMS is far less extreme). If I miss a week, then it may take 3 days or so.

But I think it is different for everybody. I've noticed that if I work a bodypart within four days of previously working it then I don't seem to notice the DOMS at all (although working that close together between workouts I usually find the intensity/volume of the workout is impaired so maybe this has something to do with it...).

After a while DOMS becomes like an old friend, letting you know that you've done good work, so if - for whatever reason - you don't experience it, then you feel like you've done something wrong!

I find that the intensity/longevity of DOMS is reduced by increasing the protein in the diet (this may be placebo effect, for all I know, but it seems to work for me). If it is truly unbearable (sometimes DOMS can affect my ability to sleep) then Ibuprofen can help, but Ibuprofen also interferes with the growth mechanism according to some studies, so try and do without it if you can.

    Kind Regards
    Dave
