    BCAA's Required?

I'm just starting out using supplements, and am taking Isolated Whey Protein before weight workouts. I also am taking BCAA tablets after each workout with the weights. I divide the week up, with "day 1" workout on arms and legs, "Day 2" is for back, chest and shoulders, and in between, (Tues, Thur, and Sat) I do an hour of Cardio. I am wondering if I should take the BCAA's on the cardio days, as I'm not positive of the use, and function of these supplements. I know that it's important when working the actual muscles, but not sure about cardio. Can I get some input from some of the more experienced folks? I'm not looking to bulk up, just get toned to a decent body. I'm a 65 year old male, and have recently lost weight going from 305 down to around 201 now.
    Thanks

No need on the cardio days. BCAAs are for additional help with muscles when working them hard with weight training. If you're not doing that then a healthy diet of veggies, protein and complex carbs is good enough.

On second thought, if you are doing a fasted and intense cardio, then consuming BCAAs prior to will reduce/prevent the protein breakdown that would otherwise occur. So... it depends.

First, I appreciate the response, I will use that advice, The reason for the asking, is that the heart is a muscle, and cardio "exercises" it, so... (Logical progression, in my mind)
    Thanks!
