Diet help

I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian trying to lose 60ish pounds without losing my muscle mass. I am having trouble with protein for body building. Any good ideas for me?

Hi there

Well, eggs is an obvious option and dairy. Greek yoghurt, milk, cottage cheese? You can get some protein from potatoes, pulses, rice, tempeh, tofu etc.

I am not a huge fan of supplementation, but whey protein isolate or even some pea protein would help you to fill the gaps.

What sort of protein numbers are you looking for per day, more is not better and 1g per lb of bodyweight is usually perfectly adequate for people with some performance goals.

Let me know what you are doing re calories / macros, would love to help if I can

Best

Steve

Hi Intensero,
May I know what is your current weight?
As Steve said protein supplements isn't going to help you much.

I didn't say supplements won't help, but let's exhaust the real food possibilities first, and use supplements to fill in the gaps

Diet Help

Eat at specific time. Do your breakfast, lunch and dinner in fixed time on regular basis.

Don't eat over at a time but you can have few times.

Hi Intensero,
Same was the problem with me last year. I want to loose my weight without getting my muscle mass reduced. So on consulting a nutritionist for the diet plan, she has recommended me about the Candlenut seed also known as the weight loss nut, which is a rich source of protein and even helps in burning body fat very easily. As it was purely a natural way of losing weight, I thought of trying it once and after a month or two, I got very amazing results from the nut. I have achieved my goal in just three months and got various health benefits too like increased metabolism and reduced cellulite form body. I am very much satisfied with the result, I have got. You can also go with the official source and can get your weight reduced without any fear.

Do you exercise regularly? If not, then you can reduce the size of the portion of food that you eat. Also in small quantities you can eat porridge.

Two the most important things here are: to adhere to diet and to control your exercises
