Pre-Workout and Sleep

I have only taken pre-workout once. LOVED the energy it gave. It was right before I instructed a class. I do suffer with some mild insomnia from time to time. The class I teach is at 7PM. I'm usually in bed 3 hours later. The night I took the stuff I was up till 4AM. Any help? Advice? Should I forego it all together or is it safe for me to take a sleeping aid after? Just trying to gather some opinions.

I am currently taking Thermoxyn stacked with TT-33. I take that before my AM workouts. Works great. It is suggested that it is stacked twice a day and I can't. It kills my appetite if I do it any more than that. As far as the pre-workout that I took the one time, I do not know the name of it. It was a sample. What you are saying though makes great sense.

It's common for any energy boosters to have mild insomnias as its side effects, that's why you will always need a post-workout supplement to counter it. I've been muscle building for about a year now, and I too is using an energy booster, but I partner it up with a post-workout supplements that works out by replenishing me what I may lost from a tedious workout, and as well as relaxing my body for a better sleep at night. These two supplements can be found in http://blacklineeliteandfuelextreme.com/ and it's a combination of supplements that works together to give you everything that you need, including neutralizing the bad side effects of energy boosters such as insomnia. Well, these are just my personal suggestions though. If you disregard it, then try milk before you sleep, to some people this is effective as a natural sedative. If it doesn't work, antihistamines will also help but don't abuse it, like use it when rest is totally needed.

I try not to take massive doses of caffeine after 6pm. Pre-workouts can have various amounts of caffeine and they are not always clear how much is in the serving. I suggest you use a pre-workout that tells you what is in it.

A little bit of after dinner coffee would not be a big deal though.

Melatonin is a good sleep aid you can get at GNC/Vitamin Shoppe or most drug stores.
There is also other herbal sleep aids at these stores.

Another thing I have added to the night time menu is various sleepy time teas.
Yogi has two Bedtime teas that are great. A half hour after I have a cup I'm fast asleep.
Most tea companies have their teas that help with sleep.

Good luck, rest is important.

Take the pre workout earlier in the day not within 6 hours of your bedtime or look for a pre workout that is low stim or stim free such as GAT PMP. You can also look into taking Melatonin at night. Helps with sleep and is cheap and effective.
