    Alternative to Front Squat

I am looking for some ideas for the best alternative to the front squat. I can physically do them, but my problem is I have an implantable defib/pacemaker in my upper chest and when in the rack position I can feel the barbell pressing on my leads. Saw my doc today and he vehemently suggested that I stop because he had a patient rip a lead out once doing the very same exercise (emergency surgery). As you can imagine, I am now more than a little nervous about them.

I currently do rear squats and leg presses during my workout. Was wondering if there was another exercise that could hit my quads the way those front squats seemed to.

    Thanks.
