    Volume charts

    Does anyone know what the volume charts are and what they represent? They seem to work the opposite of the 1RM charts.

    They chart the total amount of weight lifted.

    So say for instance you did 3 sets. The first 20 kg (or lbs)x10, the second 20x10, the third 20x8. That's a total volume of 20x10 + 20x10 + 20x8 = 560 kg.

    It's another way to track progress. Say the next time you managed 3 sets all at 20x10, that's an increased volume (600 kg) even though your 1 RM won't have changed.
