    Intermittent Fasting

    So I am planning to start a 16/8 intermittent fasting regimen with feast time from 2 pm - 10 pm. My concern is I go to the gym around 5:45 am and finish by 7:30 am well before my feast start period. Should I at least have a protein shake after my workout or wait until 2 pm? I typically drink a muscle milk shake with about 160 calorie/25g protein/9g carbs/5g fat after my workouts now.

    Please any advice would be appreciated.

    That's tough. It seems like if you are working out mid-fast like that, that your body may break down some muscle, as well. Are you trying to lose weight? Maybe get a little bit of fat in you before your workout. I drink coffee with butter in it and it seems to make me not feel as hungry. If you are fasting to lose weight, you may just have to deal with the reduction in gains until you get to where you want to be.
