    Went on my 1/4 mile sprints today. Humid on the trail but in the shade it was ok. Made my runs in ok time I guess, Averaging around 1:15 to 1:20 per. I need to pick up the speed for sure but not doing them in a while and finally making them back into my running routines are good. Hopefully I can make my two mile runs back under 13:00 flat.

    To be honest, I never keep up with my stats. I stay lean from running, pull-ups, and push-ups. Running gets a bad rep from many lifters but when it comes time to do a fitness test, those lifters usually are the last ones finishing (not all of them of course). I even had soldiers tell me that they don't run because they don't want to lose size. Excuses are for quitters and bulls**tters. My goals are simple. I want to be in the best shape I can be before I go to Special Forces Assessment and Selection and then go to the Special Forces Qualification Course. If no one knows about SFAS then youtube "Two Weeks in Hell" and you will see what I'm working my a** off for. I will soon post my Operator Level 2 routine and then Operator Level 3.

    Damn dude that's some tough stuff. Good luck and go for it! Sounds like a great goal!

    I use stats as metrics. I may feel stronger or faster, but how will I know if I'm not tracking it? You're keeping stats yourself with your run times. I was more so referring to height/weight/goal. Not so much what you can bench.

    I won't knock running at all. I enjoy running (not treadmill). I just don't get to do it often.

    Oh. my stats 5'8'', 140 lbs, and the goal is the video above and to pass it. It is now 19 days long, not 14 days for SFAS. I keep track really of my workouts by completing them rather than how much I did. I'm constructing a pull-up, dip bar, TRX station bar, and whatever else I feel I need in my backyard. Today's routine: I did a 20 minute total body circuit, legs with my TRX and bodyweight, shoulders, and then to top it off with the Ab Ripper X from P90X (Tony Horton is a beast).

    I think you need to add "telephone pole lifts" to your routine. That's some seriously brutal stuff. But I guess it has to be. Not everyone can be among the elite of the elite.

    I've been watching that whole series. Even got a friend watching them all. It's really made me rethink some aspects of my routine.

    Yeah I watched it as well among the show "Surviving the Cut". I get my routines from what I see where I need to be. Unfortnately, I can't get any logs yet but I will probably go to Home Depot and buy a big piece of lumber and make me hate life with that. On top of that, onward with the log. I ran 4.5 miles today with good time. I even in the middle of it helped some guys push their broken down vehicle up a hill until it was no longer blocking traffic. I think it was just luck that I decided to run around noon or otherwise they would have been on their own. After that I did push-up development, TRX chest workout, and Tricep Development.

    Check craigslist for scraps. You'd be amazed what you find. That's where I score my stuff.
