Throw a lean steak with some veggies and you'll have me. That's a typical lunch for me.

Ever since I found a bug in my salad, I can't seem to eat any salads. Ruined a good thing. Loved greek salads.

Just imagine how many of those bugs you've eaten and didn't know. Where's your sense of adventure?

Bugs are basically just proteins, you know. "Crunchy" chitin and then basically the same proteins, amino acids and bacterias that we have in our bodies (some variations, sure, but overall it's pretty much the same).

I guess you'd want to stay clear of bugs which are known to carry dangerous parasites though, e.g. ticks, mosquitos. *shrugs*

Chitin is technically a glycoprotein - it is as much composed of complex carbohydrates as it is protein. It is completely indigestible to humans, of course!!! Only bacteria and some fungi can digest it...

So you'll be glad to hear it won't be in any shakes any time soon!!! Well... not deliberately anyway.... Damn cockroaches!!!

    Kind Regards
    Dave

It's weird the way culture defines what you will or will not eat. On a biochemical level, chitin notwithstanding, insects and crustacea are quite similar, but whereas we'd happily tuck into a meal with shrimp, prawns or crab - and Lobster is seen as an expensive delicacy - we'd balk at cockroaches etc. In fact, woodlice are actually crustaceans!!!

Earthworms should be an ideal bodybuilding food...

    Kind Regards
    Dave

If the bug wasn't so creepy looking, I might have eaten it anyhow. But it had fangs man. Frickin' fangs!
