Thread: toning up

    I'm 27 my weight is now 67 kg which is just over ten stone I'm 6 foot I was about 13 stone at one stage I can bench about 45 kg which is poor not included bar on that but I can squat over 100 kg and leg press over 200 kg I used to be able to dead lift 80 kg but I started to loose weight to get the fat off my stomach I go to gym about 4 to 5 days a week 4 days weight training and one day do wind sprint's my waist is now 29 inch and I just have not got it right yet

    You're 6' and 147lbs and you want to cut? To each his own I suppose. Not to be a jerk, but you may end up looking like a crackhead if you cut at that height & weight. You won't look "muscular" at all.

    If I were you, I'd look at adding some muscle before you worry about "toning up". With 4-5 days a week, you could easy pack on some muscle if your routine is right. If you get the diet right as well, you can help minimize fat gain while you do it. If you want that athletic look, you're going to need to put on some more mass then cut.

    Post up your routine.

    FYI, you can include the bar weight when logging your stats. You are lifting it. Standard 6ft barbell is 45lb (~20kg).

    i've gotta agree, theres nothing of ya!!
    I'm 6 foot an about 13/4 stone and i'm pretty small!

    If your benching 45KG now what did you start with?

    Have you been doing a steady routine or have you been going whenever you can be arsed, doing abit of whatever ya feel like?

    I started off with 30 kg right at the beginning and I do a steady routine just started a new one and always go to the gym been going none stop for.a year

    What about your rep/set range? do you aim for a certain amount?

    i tend to aim for 8-10 reps, then when i hit 10 reps increase the weight by 5KG then repeat

    At mo I have just started using a routine on here called broc lessner not sure how to put it up but I do want to be able to lift more instead of feeling like a pansy ha ha
