Status: Hi, I have recently found that including leg extensions in my workout routine has led to pain in my knee cap. Can you recommend any other exercises that can isolate the quads? However given that I cycle to work every day and squat on each leg session, should I need to worry with isolating the quads? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Lee 7 years ago

howdylol Squats should be enough. If you need more quad work, you may add volume in the form of pause squats or front squats using lighter weights than for your back squat. The leg extension machine is known to be injury-prone for the knee joint, use with cau ... More

mark-1978 it is said, with running the knees take about 3 times your body weight. So then it shoulnd't be a problem doing them leg extensions.

is304 VIP Low stance leg press emphasizes quads quite well. Try one-leg variations for training various muscles around the knee, but start very light

trow80 Hi everyone. A question to the community. Do any of you use a fitness tracker (Fitbit.com, Garmin etc) and have you found them to help or are they more of a gimmick? Thanks Lee

Trow80 I bought myself a pair of lifting straps to help with Deadlifts and Shrugs. Naturally got to a point where my grip is giving out before the muscles I'm working. Highly recommended if you encounter the same problem. 👍

Trow80 Why does adding 2.5kg to a squat seem so heavy?!! 😥

mark-1978 what happened to me is that when you overload the weight, you can do more weight. So for example if you normally do like 50 kgs, you start with 100, you fail in lifting and you drop the weight untill you succeed. Very well may be possible you can do ... More
