What is your biggest motivation to go to the gym or workout on a consistent basis?

BekiSW My biggest motivation.. are actually multiple.
1.. One of my kids has CP, who is almost the same size as me now & needs physical assistance. I have to be able to deadlift my own weight on a consistant basis and not hurt myself.
2.. I have pretty severe scoliosis and was told that I would need a rod placed at 25 to stay standing. I'm 38, I have no rod and will never need one.
3... The strength I gain, and the work it takes to gain it, hurts a hell of a lot less than the physical pain I have throughout my body when I don't exercise.
4... intense physical exercise releases the neurochemicals I need to stay sane 😌
5... It’s habit, a part of my routine. It's what I do.

p.bxtrm I want to look a certain way. Only reason, only motivation. As soon as I want to skip the gym more than I want the body working out gets me I'm done. Won't see me close to a gym again.

sw880819 Myself getting better physically and mentally. The better relationships with family and friends is just a bonus of me working out.

Arthur.Sunny Honestly? Currently I am on the way to beat the 30 years younger version of myself. You asked for the biggest one.

Alcastive I don't even need motivation it's a part of my daily routine I even do it before work and breakfast, doing my workout first thing when I wake up is my top priority then I don't care what I do with the rest of the day

anatr86 For me it's 1) losing weight and 2) it makes me feel good. An hour to myself, without kids crying for attention. After months of BF, this hour was pure joy.

Hesmywitness For vanity reasons - I wanna look more muscular. But I’ve also found it’s a great way to calm my mind and I enjoy the feeling of completing a workout!

tarazed.a To be healthier than I am now. Then I decided to get into powerlifting, and chasing the higher numbers is really inspiring right now!

AussholeMom To not be upset when I look in a mirror, lol. Always going to be something I wish were different, I’m not getting any younger unfortunately:/ But I have always been an active person. Played coed softball for over half my life but had to give that up about 4 years ago before I faced a shoulder or knee surgery. That’s about the time my home gym started growing. It’s become my anger management time. Seeing changes occur in my shape has me addicted. I have to remind myself to take my rest days 🙃

BeastSuperman It has always been part of who I am! Started messing with weights in my early teens and it was a great outlet/hobby. But will part of my life till I die. Love to be strong and challenge myself to be a super human!
