I was given some BCAA powder—do you find it actually helps with recovery or performance, or is it just hype?

LiftingLynx Eh, BCAAs are naturally found in complete proteins like meat or eggs so if you are eating a protein rich diet, you are already getting them. More useful for vegetarians or people that struggle to get complete proteins in. No harm adding them to a protein shake or something since you were given them.

maxjenics If it's free put it in intra workout drink with some fast carbs like cluster dextrin

ahmad.salem I would recommend it only for professional bodybuilders who dont want to miss on any potential of improvement as this is their profession. For natties like us, the benefit to cost ratio is very minimal.

ChainPlayer For people who believe in it, it will probably help.😁 For anyone else, no.

carlosfromspain If you are getting enough protein in your diet then studies show no added benefit from BCAAs.
