Does anyone else struggle with a mental or physical condition that seems to improve once you’re at the gym?
I’ve dealt with migraines since I was about seven years old. Some of them have been so severe that I’ve ended up in bed for a day or more, and at times even in the ER because of the pain.
What I’ve discovered over the years is that if I can push myself to get to the gym and start working out, the migraine often decreases in intensity—and sometimes it goes away completely. The hardest part is overcoming the pain, nausea, light sensitivity, and dizziness just to get there.
One thing that helps is my workout time. I start at 3:40 a.m., so the drive to the gym is quiet and never an issue.

If I have a migraine, lifting weights is not going to happen. Thankfully I don't get them that often now. The trigger for me I think is being too hydrated. Too much water seems to set me up for a migraine on occasion.
