Need a little help from some experienced bulkers/cutters. I am a 54 year old male, 5’11” and 197 lbs., approximately 27% body fat. I have lifted for 30+ years but never actively cut. Going to start my first true cut on January 1. Will I lose size? If so how much? I know for my overall health I need to cut some fat but don’t want to lose very much size. I know it’s my ego but I have worked hard to gain my muscle mass. Thanks.

Carphill007 You can keep your muscle. You’ll inevitably look smaller but *way* better at certain points. You need to be on upper end of protein (1.6-2.0g per 1kg of weight) and train regularly and close to failure. You’ll be amazed what’s hiding underneath. You maybe need to get to 15-20% before you’ll get most of the benefits to your look. Note, as you’ll be in deficit, you’ll often look “flat”. I plan mini-peaks where I carb up the 3 days before so I can see what I look like at that BF but full.
