What is everyone’s opinions on Pre-Workouts? Like best for flavour and effect vs price. I am shopping around but am on a budget so I can’t go crazy. I have tried a couple that taste great but definitely exceed what I am looking to spend and I am testing out one now that seems great but for ‘full effect’ you need a full scoop, reducing the 30 servings to 15 in reality.

jayfroman I use Killaid with stim. On the stim side, it does not give me the jitters as other pre-workouts do, just a good ramp up to keep me going.

BullDogRon I buy bulk ingredients and make my own pre and post drinks. That way I know I get the daily amounts needed. I use sugar free drink packets for flavor. Do your own research. The internet is full of information

musclemeeple2 Most/all the ingredients in a pre can be found alone. decide what you want (caff, creatine, ect) jist get that stuff ....or maybe nutricost pre (have not tried...but like the brand in general for mix of quality and priice and know they have a couple pre workouts I have considered)

pdumenil I’m really not into pre workouts supplements however I enjoy having some rice cakes with honey with pink salt. Or even a banana . Coconut water is great too.

p.bxtrm caffeine is the only ingredient doing anything. 3-6 mg/kg if normal tolerance.

Workout Addict I drink matcha tea and coffee before a workout. I take HMB pre and post workout for muscle recovery. If I am doing cardio on that day, I take Citrulline Malate for endurance.

carlosfromspain Some good news for your budget, studies show that coffee or simply cheap caffeine anhydrous will have the same effect or even better as some ingredients in preworkouts may negatively impact each other's effectiveness if taken together, also if stimulant content is high it can interfere with rest and recovery actually reducing your gains.

If anything take an intraworkout if you sweat a lot or the workout is long (ex over 60min) but even then it just needs to be some simple electrolytes with water, and optionally with some sequential carbs if its a long one.

TheBusyDad I can workout without it but it lets me push a little extra. My biggest problem with most preworkout is a lot if them have artificial dyes and other extra stuff to make it taste better and be more appealing.

I've been using Transparent Labs. It has what you need without the extra.

BusyBee287 I use Legion’s Pulse. They have a stim free option too if you don’t want the caffeine, and they use stevia as their sweetener. But coffee and some carbs prior can do wonders too.

ChainPlayer Just skip pre-workout. you don't need it, because if you need it, there's something wrong with your workout <-> recovery balance. If that's the case, pre-workout won't help you anyway.
