p.bxtrm Try it. That is the best way to answer any question you have.
But it hardly matters. How you eat over 24h have a huge impact. How you eat hours before a workout have a very, very slim impact. If any.
I built most of my body not eating for 10h prior to my sessions. Have not noticed any difference at all since i started working out later in the day.

Kogre It depends on what your goals are. If you're going in fasted and your goal is to maximise strength gains, it isn't optimal or efficient, but slower but still possible. It's not a massive deal if your goals aren't to maximise strength gains, your body just cares about calories in Vs out.

pdumenil If doing weight training I usually have some rice cakes with honey with bit pink salt . Or banana also I love some coconut water honey and salt. As a pre workout drink . Gives me enough energy to get through my workout . And after you have done your workout have some protein and carbs .

Workout Addict It depends on your workout. For cardio, you need a lot of carbs. For strength training, protein, carbs, and fats.

You can train fasted also. It gives me headaches when I do it.

kalashkid if you're feeling hungry before a workout go ahead and eat, if not dont. If you do I like to stick to some simple carbs. Bananas or graham crackers are a personal favorite. Eat just enough to not be hungry or you'll feel all that food sloshing around in your gut the whole workout

Rolly96 Depends what you’re eating small snacks nuts, protein bars, fruit, even a can of tuna is ok as long as it’s left enough time to not be sitting in your gut and starting digestion it can be helpful to have some fresh energy in the body ! Wouldn’t be putting down a large steak and veg before hand 😅

My go to at the moment is
1 cup oats
1 scoop whey
Fat free milk just enough to get it all wet plus a little more
Light drizzle of honey on top

I make it the night before and eat 30-45 minutes before the gym

vimalknair Me too... Actually I used to, Since I workout in the morning I eat around 30min before workout. Usually I eat protein oats or banana or sweet potato, but since there is only 30min interval between the meal and workout, I would feel heavy and tired during workout. My experience is that if u are eating please give a window of 1-1.30hr to get the food digested.

Now I only take a mix of Creatine and electrolyte , and I am able to push harder when my stomach is empty 😄

hope it helps .
