How soon do you eat protein after your workout? And do you eat any before?
I do my workout at 5:15 in the morning. Not me about to pass out after a heavy leg day! 🥴

i usually eat shortly after and i always workout on an empty stomach. Makes me feel gross trying to workout with food in my stomach. another reason why i workout at 330am before work

Timing doesn’t matter as long as you get your .70-1.0 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight. After a workout, eat some protein (chicken breast, steak, eggs, fish, etc.) , carbs (fruits, rice, beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.) and good fats (avocado, olive oil, nuts, etc.). Don’t forget vegetables like kale, spinach, swiss chard, etc. for fiber. Yogurt is also good to eat after a workout for the gut, and it’s a good source of protein. Eat a balanced diet.

Carbs is what you want after your workout. As close after as possible. Pairs well with protein, but protein timing is not that important at all. Body is great at compensating so 24h protein is way, way more important than around training.
If I train that early I don't eat anything prior. And eat home made rice krispies as soon as I'm done.

Any time is fine like any other food. Since you're training as early as 5:15, have it after youre done unless you had a super early dinner night before. Allow for a longer periods of fasting if possible. Energy levels, you won't feel difference.

I have a protein bar right after my gym workout, but it's my reward for exercising. Long established motivational habit. I try to get protein throughout my day, with all meals and snacks

I tend to eat some protein within an hour of training but its habit rather than good science. As long as you get enough protein per day and are somewhat sensible about nutrition partitioning, it’s all gravy.

I do a protein shake right before lifting, drink electrolytes and water throughout the whole workout to keep fluids up and eat a meal right afterwards. Higher fluids with electrolytes helps keep my blood pressure stable and greatly reduces feeling dizzy during heavy lifts.
If I train that early I don't eat anything prior. And eat home made rice krispies as soon as I'm done.
I do this regardless what time I lift.
