compare and base it off of percentage of bodyweight. 2x your body weight isn't easy and "rare". the number itself, 225, isn't all that important. the general public would use 225 as a bench mark, and in that case when comparing to the general population, 225 is rare. but for gym people, think in terms of % of your body weight

yes and no. For ladies 225 is a very good long term strength goal. For the fellas its a nice milestone that should be reached after a few years of serious lifting and then surpassed for higher goals thereafter

I dream to get that strong on the bench. haha but probably still a long way to go for me
my 1RM PR on flat bench is 110.
I can do 80 for reps now but still working back to getting 100 for reps. I can do 110 1x on a strong day but have yet to get 100 2x π₯΅

1 in 100 guys can bench 225 within their first year of lifting.
1 in 20 can do it after a year.
1 in 6 after 3 years, and a third of guys can do it after 5 years.
Guess itβs different for the ladies as the majority of them are (only) training their body part below the chest π
