What’s your ideal gym time?? It might be based on the crowd, classes, machine availability, scheduling or any other reason.
For me… I’m liking the 9:30 to 11 am range

well considering I go to a 'budget gym', most of the people that go there are the exact type of people you would expect in a cheaper gym. the gym I go to has an app that shows me how many people there are (in percent, 100 is full, 0 is empty). if I go in the evening I prefer right after work, or after 8pm. considering my pre workout is extremely powerful I prefer right after work if I want to get some decent sleep. If I work the evening shift I gladly go in the mornings. almost nobody there and most of the younger members are not around so there is no mess, no endless photoshoots of people that take a million pics in between sets or people that keep machines and equipment occupied because they train jaws simultaneously.

The only time I'm really able to get in is after work, so 4-5:30pm usually. I find this ideal tho, has by the time I get there, I'm already warmed up from work and fueled up from breakfast, lunch and snacks.
The worst thing about it, is I spent most of the day counting the clock just waiting to punch out.
I also have to workout with a bunch of teens, as my gym is on a freshman college campus. Most of them are very serious, focused and efficient with their workouts. But some, take 5 minutes breaks in between sets to scroll thru social media on their phone. I can often do 3 sets to their one while waiting for them to free up the bench or rack.

I’m sometimes WFH and sometimes a road warrior-so this is actually why I came to the Q&A today. Went to an awesome anytime fitness in El Paso at 5 pm and though it was crowded, it was kinda nice. Normally, I prefer training at 5 am at home and even on the road when I don’t have early flights, I aim to be at the gym at 4:15-4:30 am to avoid crowds. So, I was wondering how others manage recovery when training time shifts from day to day-especially the not gonna see 20 or 30 again, and nearly looking back at 40’s….

My body likes right before lunch, so before 3-4pm, or right before dinner, so before 10-11pm, but my life says get it when ever you can... only deal breaker is early morning, never early morning.

Well 6am-8am is usually the morning rush 8-11 is usually medium crowded for me and usually the best times are 12-4pm for me. Also even though im a teenager I prefer not going when other teens just because most are obnoxious and just makes my social anxiety go nuts. 5pm to 7pm is usually avoided for me. Going in the morning is nice because you can just get the workout over with.

I'm in your time slot....it's not as crowded and I'm still reasonably motivated at that time...Longer I put it off the less motivated I'll get, than I won't want to go at all once it gets to be around dinner time...
