I do all of my exercises with dumbbells and my question is related to logging my sets
Should I be logging the weight of each dumbbell, the total weight lifted, or is there no "right" way to do this, meaning it's up to your personal preference? I'm currently logging the weight of each dumbbell

Awesome, I'm not the only one that does it this way. It makes sense to me and it's easier to track
It just gets confusing when I do an exercise where I'm not alternating arms. Part of me wants to track the total volume, but then the other part tells me it's going to be more difficult to track my progress and make my 1RM stats wonky
I also don't feel like doing the math that early in the morning to divide the weight from my last workout by two 🤣

TLDR: weight per bell, so if doing 12kg bicep curls, you would be using 12kg dumbells.
OK there two things here, there is total volume of weight moved over the repetitions of a single weight.
but basically you can in theory do most dumbell exercises using a single dumbbell, so as with all weights you log the weight you are moving for a single rep and then times that by tge repetitions to get the overall volume of weight moved during that set of repetitions. Now when most dumbell exercises are just supersets of a left-sided with a right side, so the question is do you log a set of 12 reps of alternating curls with 10kg dumbells as 120kg or 240kg for volume, its 120kg per arm but I've always logged if as a straight 120kg for both 🤔
"It's your thing, Do what you want to do, I can't tell ya, Who to be talking to"
