if jetfit knows how many reps you do for each weight, would there be a limit to how many is excess? the same goes with really hard reps with heavy weight and low reps. how does the app adapt to the weight you rep? does it also count the time between reps to see how long it takes between sets and reps? maybe that could be a good way to set a good pace or metric for exploration. let me know!

tragland The app tracks a volume metric. it is reps times weight lifted. although their are variations in terms of tension on the muscle doing different rep tempos and these can be used to stimulate the muscles in a slightly different way during different phases of lifting the main driver, generally for muscle growth and fitness, is total volume.

Also, it is a natural progression towards slower reps as you get closer to your 1RM or as you near failure for each set. And unless you have a rather fancy device that can measure acceleration during your lift and Jefit paired with that device you wouldn't be able to get that data. However, I find if I am doing tempo training and want to see changes in strength specific to those lifts I will create my own variation of the exercise and lable it as a 2to4 Squat (or something like that) to let me know I am doing 4 second eccentric phase and 2 second concentric. This allows me to track the weight for this training without it getting confused with my standard squat metrics.
